Illegal Immigration Is Driving Us To Drink And Change Political Parties
Republicans and conservatives are mad, really mad. The people we voted into congress don't seem to remember that they are there to DO OUR WILL, to VOTE as we want them to. They WORK FOR US, not the other way around. They need to know that GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY, WE WILL VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE in upcoming elections. If given the opportunity for a viable THIRD PARTY that will secure the borders and keep us safe from terrorists, WE WILL VOTE FOR THAT NEW PARTY.
Citizen Conservative has "High Anxiety: President Bush and Illegal Immigration" by John Lillipop:
I have just read a column by conservative writer Marie Jon concerning President Bush’s address to the nation scheduled for Monday night. Subject immigration. That column can be viewed at The Conservative Voice: http://theconservativevoice.com/article/14575.html
Ms. Jon warns against pre-judging the president’s words, and further advises that Jim Gilchrist and Chris Simcox, vocal opponents of illegal immigration, are not in power.
With all due respect to Ms. Jon, that is my lament. America needs someone in the White House who is strongly committed to the interests of US citizens, rather than worrying about millions of illegal aliens from Latin America.
In her column, Jon also refers to news that our government is informing Mexico---a foreign nation---as to the comings and goings of the Minutemen, US citizens trying to assist with homeland security.
Jon asks ‘How is that Bush’s fault?’
Well, the answer is that this outrageous betrayal of US citizens is being implemented by the BUSH Administration. One must assume the department involved is reflecting the sentiments of the top man---these days, they call that man GW or W. (Go read it all, it is well worth the time.)
Pursuing Holiness has the "Immigration Drinking Game" just for fun, education and mutual moral support:
My frustration with illegal immigration has grown to the point that I’m finally developing a sense of humor about it, just to cope. Dark humor, true. Humor laced with despair, because I honestly believe that taking in 60 million new foreigners* is an astonishingly bad idea, and that the people promoting it do not have America’s best interests at heart.I probably won’t do it, but I’m seriously considering having a drink each time the President uses the following terms (from John Derbyshire, with a hat tip to Polipundit):
jobs Americans won’t do
nation of immigrants
compassionate
family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande
good-hearted people
path to citizenship
my good friend Vicente Fox
this is not amnestyTrue, I’d gain nothing but a pounding headache and a reminder that I should have cleaned the bathroom instead of writing this post. But some numbness would be nice, at this point. Why won’t the Republicans listen (Go read it all)

Republicans are in disarray, but the Democrats are having problems of their own, too. And once again, they center around how DNC Chairman Howard Dean is spending party money: (Go read it all)

My Country - My View asks, "Back - Bone Any One ?..."
Its the truth! What is going on in our Country when illegals are allowed to gather, threat and try to intimidate US! This is our country isn't it? America used to have a backbone now what do we have? A bunch of illegals running the show. It is almost as if they have the power and we are the outsiders. (Go read the rest)

Martin you might be right on Bush trying to pull the wool over our eyes, make us think it won't work.
I have been watching Fox also, and several pundits say, "Instead of the military, why don't we just hire the required number border patrol officers and let them do the job properly?"
I would be happy with that, but their job requirements would have to be re-defined. No catch and release, it would have to be catch and deport.
I'm just afraid we are all going to be very disppointed with Bush's ideas and with what the Congress finally tries to pass off on us as an immigration bill.
And Tommy, hubby, you are so right! But don't hold your breath.

I was just watching a bit of Fox today when the matter of Bush's upcoming strategy to put troops on the border to prove it can't be secured (he thinks if he implements it badly enough, we'll think "gee, that didn't work after all") and even on Fox I heard something omitted that was quite irksome: It mentioned that the Senate wanted to pass its amnesty bill in response to all of those angry foreign nationals on our turf; but made no mention of why the House wants to pass the bill we support. Of course the House’s reason is because both houses have received more calls and e-mails from voters than likely any other time in our history telling them to close the borders, fine dishonest businesses, and even hit the deport button. By the way, I predict if we ever do go after businesses aggressively, half the illegals won't go home. Why? According to the Pew Hispanic Center, only slightly more than half came here to find work and are working. The other half are here to cause trouble and leach, quite frankly. So that deport button will need to be dusted off at the end of the day, as part of any realistic “immigration reform” package. Now if only we had a President like Ike with the courage to do the right thing.

When I was commissioned into the US Navy, I took an oath to defend the United States and her constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. The president and all members of congress take the same oath. In my humble opinion the failure of the executive and legislative branch to protect this country from these foreign invaders is an impeachable offense.
You bet! I am mad as hell!
