Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio Understands Illegal Immigration
The Reality Check.org says that "Bush’s Tough Talk on Immigration Falls Flat". No kidding. We agree with that completely. But the person who really does get it, is Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, "who had the audacity, in the Mexican government’s view, to enforce an anti-human smuggling law that went into effect in Arizona last August." source
So here we have a foreign country meddling in U.S. domestic affairs and threatening the safety and wellbeing of American citizens, yet none dare call it what it is. One might also wonder why the ACLU and other privacy rights advocates are not up in arms about the Border Patrol providing information about American citizens to a foreign government. they’re more worried about the “rights” of al-Qaeda contacts not to have their phone calls wiretapped by the National Security Agency than they are Minuteman Project volunteers. The fact that the Minutemen have consistently come under fire from the ACLU and other liberal groups would explain the double standard.California Governor Arnold Schwarzegger is going so far as to host an official state dinner for Mexican President Vicente Fox this week. Fox will also address a joint session of the California Legislature and meet privately with Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (D-Los Angeles). The same goes for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who Fox is flying down to meet a few days later.
“RINOs” or “Republicans in Name Only” candidates and their left-leaning Democratic opponents, the GOP base is fed up. In Pennsylvania, 14 Republican incumbents were defeated in primaries, while Congressman Chris Cannon of Utah and Tom Osborne of Nebraska, both seen as weak on illegal immigration, lost out as well. In contrast, the Republicans who have chosen to break with their masters at the Chamber of Commerce are experiencing a surge in popularity. ...
If Americans wish to rescue their country from the brink of oblivion, they will be ever vigilant about the integrity of the ballot box. Granting illegal immigrants the vote would be the final victory in the campaign to render American citizenship meaningless. And with citizenship goes sovereignty. source
FrontPageMagazine has an article on terrorists that are already here in the United States. How did they get here? The author suspects as many as 1,000 al Qaeda terrorists are here, and probably more than that. I suggest that some of them probably came across the open borders, some with student visas and other legal means.
I received an email that has been going around the internet showing how strongly people feel about the illegal immigration situation:
The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor." Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who sneaks in here with his wife and five children. He takes a job for five or six dollars an hour. At that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent, food stamps, and free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care. His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and require bi-lingual teachers and books that taxpayers provide. He doesn't have to worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance. Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins, and printed material. He and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in benefits, while working Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 an hour left after paying their bills and his, and paying for increased crime, graffitti, and trash cleanup. Cheap labor................................. My A$$!

From A Lady's Ruminations, "Not Sweeping Enough"
Is anyone surprised that the Senate, full of people who are supposed to represent us, has decided to throw its lot in with illegal aliens and the open-borders lobby? Just great. AP: Senate advances sweeping immigration billIf only that headline meant that the Senate was all for "sweeping" the illegal invaders right out of our country.
Alas, woe are we. The Senate would rather stab us in the back than enforce the laws we already have---perfectly good laws.
...
If our elected "representatives" don't want to do what we elected them to do, then we will just have to sweep them out of office in November. Tell them what you think (and that they better make some vacation plans) here.
Lots more from Hot Air and Michelle Malkin.
From DeMediacratic Nation, "The mere fact that persons in violation of the law are now concerned with actual enforcement of the law is exactly what we had hoped for - Senator Chip Rogers, GA
Gee, here is an idea that sounds as if it is already paying dividends even though it doesn't go into effect until 2007.
From the Chattanooga Times Free Press:
The new law will apply federal verification rules to residents seeking Medicaid and many other tax-funded services and deny state government contracts to businesses hiring illegal immigrants., "Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison Weighs in On Gas and Immigration"
Senator Hutchison, or someone on her staff, took the time to write a page and a half letter regarding her stance on immigration.Mensa Barbie, "US Sovereingty and the Prosperity Agenda" (An excellent post, go read it all)

Notice I did not say Mexican-Americans…I thought you would like to see a Texas Walmart’s ad for Memorial Day. They also have Spanish broadcasts on screens, in their stores.
Now I don’t mind targeted advertising for groups, but at a time when we are having this debate on Illegal Immigration it is obvious what they are doing. Not to mention, what does this have to do with Memorial Day?
Common Sense America, "Senate Backs Job Verification for Immigrants"
Well it appears as if maybe someone up there has some brains.WASHINGTON, May 23 — The Senate voted on Tuesday to require employers to use a vast new employment verification system that would allow businesses to distinguish between legal and illegal workers.
Employers would be required to enter the Social Security numbers or immigrant identification numbers of all job applicants, including citizens, into the computerized system, which would be created by the Department of Homeland Security.

Joe Arpaio is rediculous. A guy shot my brothers friend in the back just inches from hitting a major artery, and he got possesion of a weapon in public. That is the only charge! Joe Arpaio needs to fight real crime not this bullshit. He is a piece of shit. People are getting of with attempted murder and he is worried about deporting people who worked hard to get to American soil.

I just wish we could have a copper like Joe Arpaio here in the UK!!! All we ever hear about is respecting the human rights of scum that doesn't deserve any. The day they mugged, murdered or stole from ordinary hard working honest folk was the day they lost any rights. Good luck Joe and good on you!

The WaPo carried a story about the Arizona sheriff last weekend. He's got the right idea on illegal invaders.

UNACCEPTABLE!
