Simcox and Gilchrist on immigration and politics
Leaders of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and the Minuteman Project are speaking out on the criminal invader situation, on the Senate Bill, and on politics:
"If our federal government is not going to respond, there's a real movement to tell Democrats and Republicans that we're not going to sit back and take it," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps."It's not political to want border security," he added. "We must demand our elected officials uphold the law."
"I don't trust either major party," said Minuteman Project leader Jim Gilchrist, adding that President Bush has disappointed millions of Americans. "It's so obvious he has no intention to preserve the sovereignty of the U.S. or protect us from criminals." ...
Congressional sources frequently cite the number of illegal immigrants at 11 million to 12 million. Simcox puts the number of illegals in the country at 20 million. Gilchrist says it's more like 30 million. ...
McCain is "bad news for our country ... We're going to do our best to keep John McCain out of New Hampshire," he said, referring to McCain's possible 2008 presidential ambitions.source
ViaHyscience,
John Hawkins at Right Wing News has put together an article that covers 22 problems with the Senate's illegal immigration bill ... You can read the entire article here...It seems to me that one of the best ways to shut down the flood of illegal immigrants across our southern border, besides building a fence, quadrupling the number of border patrol agents, arresting employers that hire them, and arrest/deport every one that is caught - is to revoke the constitutional provision granting automatic citizenship to the U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants.
From Public Figures - Beware, "Plan for Mexico/US Wall Gains Support... in Mexico!"
Too good not to share. Via the NY Times, no less:"It's fantastic," said Primitivo Rodriguez, an immigrant activist in Mexico, whe asked about plans to build walls. "It's the best thing that could happen for migrants, and for Mexico."Mr. Rodriguez, who has served as an adviser to the Mexican government and an organizer in the United States for the American Friends Service Committee, said the porous border had for years been an important safety valve of stability for Mexico's economy, allowing elected officials to avoid creating jobs and even taking legal measures to stop the migration of an estimated 500,000 or more Mexicans a year. source
E. L. Frederick says, "S.2611 is the entire immigration bill, not just an amendment, but the whole thing. The entire peice of trash that at least one Senate Republican has said, “The Senate should be ashamed of itself.” for creating. I agree completely. Now we have to 'encourage' the house (with threat of losing their jobs) to do the right thing and squash the insanity in this bill.
Red Hot Cuppa Politics, "Mexican Politicos Seek Hispanic Vote"
Both US -- and Mexican! -- politicians are scrambling for the fabled Hispanic vote by catering to illegal aliens in the USA.Get your mind around this one:
From the Chicago Sun-Times:
MEXICO CITY -- The U.S. immigration debate could determine more than the future of illegal immigrants. It may help pick Mexico's next president July 2.

I'm glad you had a good trip. Enzo has also been visiting Italy. Lucky guys! ha
It has been a beautiful week here, very hot with temperatures near 90 degrees, very humid, with several thunderstorms.
We just celebrated our Memorial Day, where we remember our military members who have given their lives to protect America. I'm sure you hae a similar celebration there.
