As the House/Senate Committee meet and pretend to try and work out some sort of bill that will please everyone in the USA on immigration reform, I learn that they will not have any announcements until AFTER the November elections. I'm hoping this is just a terrible rumor, because something needs to be done NOW.
The recent terror arrests in Canada have made everyone aware of the threat to the north from Islamic terrorists. But the threat is even greater on our southern border. Anti-Jihad Pundit has a wonderful article covering this subject. I would like to share a portion of it here:
from Noisy Room.Net
Courtesy of The Jawa Report (Who says, "Disturbing report by the ISN on the growth of Islam south of the border. I would be more frightened by it if I did not know that there is a much larger threat of home-grown Islamists here in the United States, than in Mexico. But still, the threat is real.):
The Murabitun (the Almoravids, after the African Muslim dynasty that ruled North Africa and Spain in the 11th and 12th century [NOTE: they invaded Spain from Sfrica and are said to be the first predecessors of Bin Laden, who preached a very violent form of Islam and fanatised bereberes, who entered Spain to help Al-Mutamid, "Taifa" king of Seville, against Alfonoso VI of Castille -the king of EL CID- but they changed the momment they entered Spain and lived in an hedonistic atmosphere. They have conquered nearly all the Muslim kingdoms of Spain but their zeal has diminished greatly]- (This group) also has a presence in Mexico (www.cislamica.org). The group is a well-funded international Sufi order based in Granada, Spain that claims thousands of followers across the globe, including many European converts. It is also regarded as one of the most aggressive missionary movements in Latin America and a major rival of Omar Weston's CCIM. It was founded in the 1970s by Sheikh Abdel Qader as-Sufi al-Murabit, a Scottish Muslim convert born Ian Dallas who was formerly a playwright and actor. Dallas is a controversial figure who, among other things, is a vocal critic of international capitalism and modern forms of finance. Although there is no evidence linking him or his organization to violence or terrorism, he has been accused of harboring pro-Nazi leanings and other radical ideologies. Othman Abu-Sahnun, an Italian Muslim convert and former ranking member of the Murabitun who had a falling out with the group, dedicates an entire website accusing his former leader of extremism, corruption and being party to alleged sinister conspiracies involving Freemasonry (www.murabitun.cyberummah.org).
Chiapas: there lives Aureliano, now Mohammed,
who repudiates democracy, condemns the March 11 attacks, is the brother-in-law of Carmen Calvo, Spanish Minister of Culture. Mohammed is the Muslim Authority of Chiapas' capital. He says that, since 7 years ago, he has not come to Spain, and the Minister and his brother have not gone there to see him. So they do not have any relationship.
He has 9 sons, of 2 weedings and he is totally exultant of what he has achieved there: 50 Indians converted, some businesses like pizzerias or honey selling which prosper and the recognition of his converts.
"Democracy? No, we do not believe in democracy. The vote is the negation of the politics, which is natural in human beings. It is the worst of all political systems, the pervert commandment of capitalism which feeds the social injustice in the world and lets that people who command are very few who are not known and who handle politicians like puppets. I have never voted and I am very proud of it".
"Islam is not a religion, is a way of life, something which is beyond election. Ii's the last message. There is no more espiritual openess that the message of Allah and his prophet. And I do not mind if think I pray a excluding message, because, effectively, that is what I pray. Allah has given me a mission, has anointed me with his gift to preach his word and to take it to this lost world. And I do not mind if you write that, because that is my destiny".He read Marx and then he was Atheist after a faith crisis when he was 15. "Those crisis only happen in Christianism, it's impossible that those thinks happen in Islam". After that he was teacher and after another existencialoist crisis he began to make baskets of wicker in a remote village of Cordoba.
His heart was tormented but he realised how well he felt in Morocco in Ramadan time. At that time, he was not thinking at all in converting to Islam, but he also did not want anything about the estructurated religions.
But one night he had a dream: (you can go read all his history) ...
"USA is not happy about us being here and is pressing Mexico to have us removed from here. There were some articles in US press saying that I was a terrorist but I just laugh about them. That is why we do not speak for the press: these are not good days for Muslims in the world.
"The Profet justifies Jihad when it is a noble combat and with rules which must be respected, like prayer days and not killing innocents.
Go to the Anti-Jihad Pundit and read it all.

Amboy Times, "Border Bribery"
Ever wonder how all those drugs get into the US through our air-tight Customs agencies? A border inspector accused of accepting cash and a luxury vehicle from smugglers driving carloads of illegal immigrants through border crossings was arrested Thursday.

I received a letter from my Representative, Kenny Marchant. It's good news, and I'm thinking I've been a little unfair to him.
The letter's a page and a half long, via snail mail, and he signed it.
ImMuscatine, "Yes, Remember, We Would Like To Order In English" cross posted from My Country - My View, a great read.
Take Back Georgia, " CPA Update - Gangs and Illegal Immigration in Georgia"
We met Joe Amerling with the Hall County Gang Unit/Task Force last night. Let me tell you, it was an eye-opening experience.
I was not so shocked about the drugs, guns and violence within the gang culture, because frankly, I grew up in that type of neighborhood. Although, what did surprise me, is how young the kids are, how some families encourage it, and how it is becoming a traditional way of life for some ethnic groups – primarily Asian and Hispanics.
Morning Coffee, "New immigration rule targets employer records". A MUST read article, but here's a sample:
As a massive immigration overhaul remains hung up in Congress, the Bush administration continues to highlight a new, tougher approach to border security and immigration law enforcement.
Following last month's announced crackdown on employers who hire illegal workers, the administration on Friday said it was proposing a new rule that would hold employers more accountable for investigating workers whose Social Security numbers do not match government records.
