The story “Critics Fear Emergency Centers Could Be Used for Immigration Round-Ups” has something for everyone to hate. If it’s expensive and ineffective for slowing illegal immigration, the U.S. government is all for it.
WASHINGTON — The military contractor that built the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and jails throughout Iraq has been tapped to construct facilities in the United States to be used in the event of “an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S.”
The hyperventilating nutroots will say that these are going to be “concentration camps” like Gitmo. (Shameless plug: Will they serve the same food, but with jalapenos? 
)
The contract has sparked wide speculation that massive prisons are going to be built to detain illegal immigrants or even U.S citizens, fears that government officials say are unfounded.
If they are not going to be used to detain illegal immigrants, then why are we building them? Oh, wait, they are:
A contingency in the deal says construction would only begin after an “emergency” is declared. At that point, KBR would get a maximum of $385 million over five years to build the facilities, say officials at the Army Corps of Engineers, which is executing the contract for ICE. The contract, however, does not mean a massive construction project is underway, they say.
For now, KBR is to receive an estimated $450,000 annually for administrative costs, Church said.
So for an indefinite period, we’re going to give almost half a million of our hard-earned dollars to a private company so it can sit on its hands. (That’s 3000 feet of border fence, similar to the one that has been proven effective in Israel.) Then, when an emergency is finally declared (and remember, it took twelve years of Saddam Husseins international defiance to bear fruit, and now with Iran we’ll do nothing until they have nukes with which to threaten us and Israel) they’ll START building facilities which will take years to complete.
Critics say they are troubled over the deal for myriad reasons and question the timing of the contract, arguing the administration may plan to use these facilities to begin rounding up illegal immigrants
Anybody who believes the Bush Administration or our Senate would permit round ups and long term detention needs a lengthy stay in rehab. Even the recent well publicized raids were nothing more than crumbs thrown to the base. Catch and release is the game they play, and the taxpayers always lose.

Vincente Fox has been campaigning for his party here in America by trying to get the US to keep slacked off on immigration reform.
However, the actual candidates have been running partially on how to provide jobs in Mexico -- so that Mexican citizens don't have to immigrate to the US. Well, that and stopping corruption. The election is to be held July 2nd, and it's going to be close:
