Hizbullah gives government negotiation power - what?
Hizbullah gives government negotiation power is the headline and I say "What?". The Lebanese government needs permission from Hizbullah/Hezbollah to negotiate. There should be no negotiating with terror groups. Period.
Hizbullah gave the Lebanese government the green light to negotiate on its behalf for a prisoner swap with Israel. Any swap would include the two Israeli soldiers captured by Hizbullah in a cross-border raid on July 12, and Lebanese and Arab prisoners in Israeli jails."The Lebanese government will lead the exchange through the intermediary of a third party. This has been accepted by Hizbullah," Speaker Nabih Berri said Sunday. It was not immediately known who the third party would be.
Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh said Sunday that the two Israeli soldiers were "in good health" and called on "the United Nations or any third friendly party to engage in discussions of a prisoners' exchange."
"Germany has played an important and prominent role between Lebanon and Israel in the past, and it can play a similar role now," Salloukh said after a meeting with Peter Witteg, the head of international affairs at Germany's Foreign Ministry. source
Articles reporting on the Middle East fighting go like this:
Israel ... attacked telecommunications installations ... Israel ... destroyed relay stations ... Israeli ... air strikes hit ... Israeli ... missile hit ... Israeli ... air strike killed ... Israeli ... warplanes also targeted ... Israel ... targeted ...And at the very bottom of articles you may find something like this:
Hizbullah launched rocket attacks across northern Israel, including Haifa ...Reporting is 'disproportionate', ... Israeli response to being attacked by Hezbollah, a known terrorist organization, is NOT 'disproportionate'
And FYI, Today in History:
July 24, 1987 - Switzerland
Air France Hijacking In Geneva
A Lebanese terrorist was overpowered by the flight crew during an Air France hijacking after the murder of a Frenchman and an assault on a stewardess.
(The Lebanese was overpowered by a Frenchman???)

PS - Remember I talked about the US being careful not to create a Shia version of Al Qaeda.
Guess what, Israel just did that, but this time it's not something ghetto like Al-Qaeda. It's a whole country and about a couple million angry Shia.

For every child Hezbullah has killed, Israel has killed at least 25 children.
Israel can defate Hezbullah, but another Hezbullah will be formed. Different name, different people, same cause: The Freedom of Palestine.

Today Hezbollah (or Hizbulla) killed an Arab family living in Israel. They rush the border with their Ketusha rockets and fire, not caring who or what they hit. They want turmoil, Mujahideen Ryder.
Yes, shlemazl, I know there are Hezbullah in the Lebanese government, and this makes it very difficult. Chad at In the Bullpen reported yesterday that the Lebanese government knew Hezbollah planned to attack Israel and capture their soldiers BEFORE it happened.
Lebanan needs to take charge of this situation, and Hezbollah, and if they can't then they need to ask some other countries for help.

I am sure you are already aware that Hizbullah IS in the Lebanese Government. There are two Hizbullah ministers. Also the Lebanese Parliament Speaker is from Hizbullah.
I think that the majority of Lebanese are against Hizbullah, but do nothing about it and there is a sizeable minority of Hizbullah supporters.
Very sad for Lebanon.
