Flight 93 Memorial Still Shaped Like Islamic Crescent
The memorial for Flight 93 was intially designed shaped as an Islamic crecent that pointed directly to Mecca. Outrage over this chosen design to commemorate the lives lost in a Pennsylvania field in one giant act of bravery forced a re-think of the design. In late November 2005, it was announced a new design would be made for the memorial.
Today we learn that the new design is essentially the very same design but instead called the "Bowl of Embrace" as opposed to the previous name, the "Crescent of Embrace." The objectionary crescent and it's position relative to the perceived target of the strike, Washington D.C,. and Mecca still exists.
The particular patch of land needs to be remembered for the heroism of the passengers on board who took their own lives to save the lives of others. Even more disgusting than the design and the exact position is that the there are to be glass blocks commemorating everyone on board including the four hijackers. Yes, the design will commemorate the hijackers. What kind of asinine crap is that?
All is not lost though as there is still time to push for changes, though whether they desire comments on the design is in question. Bruce at Error Theory has all of the information on how to contact the board who approved the design and one person in particular who appears to just not care what the design looks like. This is not about shunning any Islamic symbol from the United States, but rather not rewarding those who used their religion as justification for attack on this nation. I am outraged that this memorial is even set up to put those who took the plane hostage on the same playing field as those who called out "let's roll."

Mrs. Peperium,
This is the first I have heard of the shrine you mention, but upon looking it up and the controversey around it, the two are very similar. We live in a society now that seems to believe no good will can be done by people that exert force in trying times. To put the hijackers on the same playing field as the heroes of Flight 93 is yet another of the countless examples of such thinking. The 9/11 "Freedom Museum" is yet another example of this stupid, frame a war but don't mention it nonsense.
With that in mind, would the United States have ever have come to fruition if today's thinking existed and was accepted as the norm in 1776? I certainly don't think so, therefore those who make the pushes to silence history are the ones that never would have had that right had there not been people of similar courage willing to storm a cockpit and take terrorists down. It's all a circle.

Q. What kind of asinine crap is that?
A. Insane, desperate, and disrespectful. Much like the shrine the Ford Motor Company built to Rosie The Riveter a few years in California at one of their old tank or whatever WWII building sites that made zero mention of WWII. My husband was forced to write the promotion of this museum with the demand by Ford to Do Not Mention WWII. I think Ford was eventually forced to mention WWII by the Rosies that were still living and still proud of their contribution to the War effort. Unfortunately for Flight 93, none of them survived to have the gravitas to fight for the truth...

Utter and complete insanity!
The fury that builds in men because of these kinds of acts will not go away in short time! The left and the "Religion of Peace" think they help themeselves...God help them when the fury has built to overflowing.

"The bowl of embrace"? Sounds kinda like a smut movie about college football.
But I wonder, have they asked the jihadists whether they want infidels included in their tribute?
