August 22, 2006 Allah will know his own (or is it actually the night of August 21?)
The night of August 21, 2006 is the night Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven from the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem while a great light lit-up the night sky. August 22 is the day Iran's President Ahmadinejad will give his 'answer' to the West concerning his nuclear program. A coincidence? August 22 is the day "Allah will know his own", meaning that infidel, non-Muslim, victims will go to a well-deserved punishment in hell and Muslims will be sent to heaven.
'Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate. --Quran 9:73 (via The Conservative Voice)'
In 874 A.D., the “12th Imam”, the Mahdi, which means messiah or guide, was “hidden by God”, and most muslims believe his return will signal the onset of Armageddon in which Islam will dominate the world. This strangely coincides with the much older prophecy that the Anti-Christ will come from the East at the start of Armageddon.The Mahdi can’t come unless there is major opression, death and destruction of muslims going on and Ahmadinejad wants to promote this to bring about the Mahdis return. -- via Islaminazi
There has been plenty 'death and destruction' lately and maybe more to come. The Jerusalem Post is reporting that if the conditions set forth in UN resolution 1701 are not going to be enforced, that Israel will stay in Lebanon. The conditions they refer to are the disarming of Hezbollah. Also being reported is that Lebanon and Hezbollah have reached an agreement where Hezbollah 'does NOT have to disarm, but must keep their weapons out of public view'. This 'death and destruction' is not over.
Remember that Israel's captured soldiers have not yet been returned by Hamas or Hezbollah.
Is the Hezbollah attack against Israel on July 12 that started this chain of events by Israel against Lebanon embedded into the beginning of something much more sinister?August 21, 2006 (Rajab 27, 1427) is known in the Islamic calendar as the Night of the Sira’a and Miira'aj, the night Prophet Mohammed (saas) ascended to heaven from the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on a Bourak (Half animal, half man), while a great light lit-up the night sky, and visited Heaven and Hell also Beit al-Saada and Beit al-Shaqaa (House of Happiness and House of Misery) and then descended back to Mecca. The night of August 21 is a very, very important night in Shia'a Islam. What Iran's Ahmadinajead is promising the world by August 22 is the light in the sky over the Aqsa Mosque that took place the night before. That is his answer to the package of incentives the international community offered Iran on June 6.
The world and especially the US State Department should take this date seriously. Nothing happens without a reason in Iran and the events in Lebanon were intentionally started by Hezbollah, with Iran's tacit knowledge and approval leading to the Rajab 27 night when it delivers its answer, in the form of "light in the sky", over the Aqsa Mosque. source
Was Hezbollah's fight with Israel this last month the beginning of Ahmadinejad's apocalypse?
"Ahmadinijad's motive is based on religious visions of an imminent apocalypse; his means are the short range missiles already deployed in Lebanon, and longer-range rockets like the various Zelzals; his opportunity has been created and cultivated for him by Hizballah" source Die Welt
More:
"What is the significance of August 22? This year, August 22 corresponds, in the Islamic calendar, to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427. This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to 'the farthest mosque', usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (cf, Koran XVII.1). This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and, if necessary, of the world." --Bernard Lewis, Wall Street Journal
Threats Watch has this:
Rightly confident that Iran’s Hizballah foreign legion has “hoisted the banner of victory,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad looks to parlay that shared victory into Iranian Nuclear Gambit gains, with unshakable confidence that “God’s promises have come true.” [snip]“We will give our response on the announced date [Rajab 27 - August 21 or 22], and our reply will be based on defending the absolute rights of the Iranian people,” he said, amid chants of “nuclear energy is our undeniable right”. (more)
A Tangled Web asks "Why has Iran insisted that it be August 22nd, not June 6th, for it to reply to the nuclear package gifted by the EU3 and the US?"
Comes the answer that August 22nd corresponds to Rajab 27 on the Muslim calendar.
Ahmadinejad could be hinting to the West that he is preparing a major attack on Israel. Or, the Iranian president could be warning that unless the West caves in, he would escalate tension in the region. The lightening in Mohammed's story could represent Iranian missiles. What is clear is that Ahmadinejad does not see himself as an Iranian leader, but a Muslim prophet, using imagery to portray himself as a messiah for both Sunni and Shi'ite Muslims. (Bill Gertz)
And some think that we can do business with the loon????
Villagers With Torches reminds us, "If one understands the meanings in the first mind blowing letter to Bush, by Ahmadi-nejad, making the call to Islam, then this kind of thing, among the Hojatieh is not exactly a shock." Ahmadinejad sent a letter to George W. Bush which was made public. He also sent a letter to France's Jacques Chirac and Germany's Angela Merkle.(via Regime Change Iran and Monsters and Critics)
If Ahmadinejad's message was the same in all three letters, he has issued his invitation to at least three Western nations to 'accept Islam or else'. Or else what? Perhaps we will find out on the night of August 21 and into the day of August 22.
There is a big difference in how the 'West' and 'Muslims/Arabs/Iran' react to events. Remember the Danish cartoons of Mohammad? The reaction across the world was to march, burn, destroy, tear down, blow up, and kill. 'More than 200 Holocaust cartoons from around the world are on display at a museum in the Iranian capital, Tehran'. Do you see any Jews or Christians taking to the streets with gun and knives to destroy property or kill innocent humans? No you don't.
You can read about the Holocaust cartoons find links to view them at Planck's Constant. For a true comparison of the differences in tactics, In the Bullpen via Kinaree Pundit, has a letter from an Israeli (with excellent photos) you really should read it all.
We do not blow up airplanes in mid-air, we do not crash airplanes into buildings, we do not attack mosques, we do not attack Arab or Moslem cultural centers, we do not attack US and French army barracks with trucks filled with explosives, we don’t hijack airplanes or cruise ships (as well as throwing old men on wheelchairs into the sea), and we do not murder Olympic athletes. We do not blow up cars in Paris, the underground in London, discotheques in Bali, Hindu shrines in India, children in schools in Russia, or train stations in Madrid. We do not behead US reporters, we do not hold hostage members of a USA embassy for over a year, we do not blow up hotels in Nairobi, we do not murder a presidential candidate in Los Angeles, we do not go into a Moslem Cultural Center in Seattle and kill five elderly women because they are Moslems, ....
Lt. Col. Gordon Cucullu in "The Missiles of Rajab 27" says:
To begin we review what we know for certain:1) Iran has been focused on acquisition of nuclear weapons, working for years with the AQ Khan group and North Korea;
2) Iran has for all intents and purposes declared war on Israel and America (though the U.S. has not understood Iran’s commitment), outlining its war policy as one of utter extermination;
3) Iran has worked unceasingly with North Korean scientists and engineers to improve missile technology, resulting in several models of varying ranges and payloads, and with highly improved mobility over SCUDs;
4) Iran has used surrogate movements and states to support clandestinely attacks on Israel and America (the latter inside Iraq);
5) Iran has positioned large numbers of technologically advanced weapons and the troops from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to assist inside Lebanon and Syria. [snip]
... inaction is not appropriate. Nor is the reprehensible laundry list of appeasement initiatives drafted by State Department Arabists acceptable. The options for a diplomatic solution have already expired. ... Both Syria and Iran must be faced squarely and confronted with the consequences of their actions before they can attack. ...
Rather than wait defensively America must strike Iran, taking out leadership, nuclear, and missiles ...
Syria has to be taken out immediately. Leadership targets - regime, Hezbollah, and Iranian - must be attacked ... (MORE)
Whoa there Lt. Col., you don't really think that is going to happen? The US certainly won't take those actions and after watching Israel over the last month, I'm not sure they would strike Iran.
I personally don't think anything is going to happen on August 21 or 22, at least not in the USA. I'm not so sure about the Middle East, specifically Israel. We will just have to wait and see.
I'm willing to put my faith in my God, and let 'God know His own'.

Perhaps we'll be hearing claims that there was some miraculous reversion of the 8/22 apocalypse.

I think we need to take all of this very seriously, we've already seen on one major occasion and prior to that several equally reprehensible but less impactful, that we are dealing with people who do not have any regard for anything but their own twisted, and perverted take of what "reality" is. What makes us so arrogant that we can consider someone who fancies himself the incarnation of a prophet to act reasonably?? Did we not learn anything from 9/11?? It only takes one lunatic with a severe death wish and no respect for human life, his or anyone elses, to create chaos on a catastrophic level, what exactly is keeping anyone from acting on this, and more importantly keeping it from happening?? I do not understand why something as poignant as a letter stating that something significant to their religious ideology will occur on a what they consider to be a high religious holy day and the anniversary of a major religious event, is not being taken more seriously... how many more Americans have to die before someone decides this is enough, we're done, we're finished and open season on Americans is over??? I'm very concerned, I'm not afraid of dying, what I am afraid of is dying slow and painful, or worse watching people I love, and my fellow Americans dying slow and painful and a nuclear attack to mimic the "light in the sky..." I assure you would result in slow and painful.

just to clear something...
allah, juda, jehova, buddha, etc., are ALL names for God. they are all portrayed.. or drawn/made different because well.. nobody really knows what God looks like.
it's really annoying when people make remarks about how God should be named. that's his name in their languages. ;]

concerning this 22 august thing...
I thaught it was well known that muslim religion and muslim events DON'T USE YOUR SAME CALENDAR!!
Theree's no august in islam .. Islamic events use the Lunar Calendar, and so it's IMPOSSIBLE to do a correspendance of two dates from the two calendars (the lkength of a month varies according to how the moon is observed, so even between countries you may have different dates, and also the length of a year is unknown in advance and can't be calculated)
So even if the day when the prophet went to the sky (and it is not to heaven) is known in the lunar islamic calendar, it's impossible to say it was a 22 august, or any other date.
and for that mahdi thing .. WTF ??
Do you know a lot (maybe the majority) of muslims don't beleive in this ?
Anyway it also could never be based on your calendar so ..
What I mean is that all of this is bullshit.
But come on .. don't let facts distract you from your strong beleifs

Debbie, Thank you for your hard work and research into this. I mentioned the football game because I was wondering what the US response would be if something like that happened. An immediate strike on Iran? Would Iran have time to strike Israel? Would Israel destroy Mecca? Sounds like a possible fulfillment of the prophecy Ahmadinejad seems to be attempting to will into reality.
BTW What if Bin Laden reappeared as the 12th Imam that "emerged from the well"? Would he be welcomed thus uniting Sunnis and Shias for an apocolyptic battle against Christians and Jews? Makes me wonder if he has been hiding out in Iran all along. I know...speculation. :-)

Rick, I have thought the same thing about a professional football game. I didn't realize that there was a game on August 21. Thanks for that info.
Just because the latest UK terror threat was thwarted, doesn't mean that they don't have two or three more plots in the pipeline. That's they way they usually work, planning one big event, with some smaller events in the planning stages.

I have often felt that a major US sporting event will one day be the next 9/11, possibly a nuclear 9/11. It just seems to be too easy of a target and offers such a dramatic terrorizing result. The Cowboys and Saints are playing Monday night, August 21.

I have some of the Iran cartoon entrants here: http://plancksconstant.org/blog1/2006/05/iran_newspaper_incre.html
Also it doesn't matter what 1.49 billion Muslims think - it only matters what one looney bin thinks, just as it didn't matter what millions of Germans thought in 1939.

It may be true that not all Muslims believe in this "messiah" coming soon, but it makes no difference what all Muslim's believe. It matters what the leaders of Iran believe (as it concerns this Aug 22).
I agree here that this is probably nothing, but we cant ignore this entirely. Iran's leaders may be more looney than we give them credit for.
Robert Spencer is going to be on C-Span's Q&A on Sunday (Aug 20) at 8pm and 11pm EST for those that care. I would imagine this will be one of the larger topics discussed.

LOL, haha this is the funniest post ever.
"In 874 A.D., the “12th Imam”, the Mahdi, which means messiah or guide, was “hidden by God”, and most muslims believe his return will signal the onset of Armageddon in which Islam will dominate the world. This strangely coincides with the much older prophecy that the Anti-Christ will come from the East at the start of Armageddon."
90% of the Muslim ummah do not believe that the Mahdi was hidden from God. The Mahdi will be a man who will be BORN.
What you have cited is of the Shia beliefs which contradict the majority Sunni beliefs.
Also, I don't know much about what the Shia say about the signs of the Mahdi coming, but as a Sunni Muslim, we believe that before the Mahdi comes, the Dajjal or the Anti-Christ (from Christianity) has to come. He will be a false prophet, and he'll have one eye (the other eye will be covered up). Also there are many other signs that haven't occurred yet according to Sunni traditions.
Remember you can't generalize all Muslim beliefs with the Shia beliefs.
What we should be afraid of is a Shia version of Al-Qaeda.
