August 22 - Today's the Day

Terror groups are looking for weapons of mass destruction. Iran's President Ahmadinejad is hoping to build weapons of mass destruction, specifically nuclear weapons. Has anyone thought that perhaps Mahmoud also wants to purchase those weapons and perhaps he has already done so? If that is true, he could have a weapon that he could use today, or some day in the near future. Where would he get such weapons? North Korea? Pakistan? Russia? Something to think about.

Henry A. Crumpton, the State Department's counterterrorism coordinator, in an interview conducted yesterday, said:

All I could offer you are some historical public record references. One of the most chilling is the al-Qaeda operative who's currently in Malaysian detention—[Yazid] Sufaat. He was tasked to develop and deploy a biological weapon in Southeast Asia and obviously I can't talk about some of the ongoing intelligence operations and investigations but yes, multiple terrorist groups are searching for weapons of mass destruction.

Today is August 22, time to bend over and kiss your a$$ goodby ... or is it? Did you all say your prayers before bed last night? Did you knock wood; throw salt over your shoulder, make sure not to break any mirrors, fiddle with your worry beads??? Not me, I slept like a baby with not a care in the world. Whatever happens today, happens. Whatever will be ... will be. Old Mahmoud doesn't have the nuclear bomb (yet) or so experts believe. He may wait to 'light up the sky over Jerusalem' until he has that great BIG candle to do it with.

[Bernard] Lewis believes it will be precisely Tehran who will unleash the ultimate conflict by attacking Israel.” Also let’s not forget this: August 22 - Iran’s Military Exercise and Apocalyptic Plans for Israel and World, DEBKAfile Special Report...[snip] There was an old expression that is only found now in antique novels, about the suspense getting so thick that “Everyone was on tenterhooks”. I could look it up but why spoil the fun? Does anyone know what a tenterhook is? No cheating, now. (go read it for the answer)

Gribbit's Word reported yesterday: "Iran Turns Away IAEA Inspectors - Nuke Treaty In Danger"

Iran has turned away International Atomic Energy Inspectors from an underground uranium enrichment facility designed to protect against attack according to officials at the UN. IAEA inspections are a requirement under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty to insure that international community that enrichment facilities are not being used to produce weapons grade uranium. This comes a day before the expected announcement by Iran concerning the incentive offer proposed by the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Counsel. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also announced that Iran would never give up its right to enrich uranium.

Iran's President Ahmadinejad is compared to Hitler and we know that Islam has a history with Hitler via the Muslim Brotherhood. Susie wonders why so many people are interested in this particular date?  I too wonder.  Is it concern for terrorism, or end times, armageddon, nuclear attacks from Iran, a search for some understanding of Iran's President?  Whatever the reason, they certainly are searching.

There is an excellent article at The American Thinker, "A dialogue with a Saudi Muslim (10)". This is a must read, but do it when you have considerable time to devote, there's more than one part.

Glenn Beck seemed to have some fun today watching the end of the world transpire. I for one joined in by dusting off an old REM favorite (those of you who are old enough know which one ;)). At any rate, there's no doubt Iran's nut job leaders need to be neutralized. We have our excuse it seems in recent reports Iran has begun shelling Kurdish villages in northern Iraq (http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,1852843,00.html). If that is not a provocation (forget its handiwork behind Hezbollah et al) then I wonder what is.
