Immigration Report Cards for Frist, Alexander and Blackburn
Numbers USA sends out 'report cards' on our politicians, showing their voting record on immigration issues.
Bill Frist receives a D - on his recent voting and over his career a D +. Is it any surprise with a report card like this, that he has been an utter failure in getting any legislation passed? Nope!
Lamar Alexander received a C - for both recent voting and career voting on immigration.
Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee gets a B + for her recent voting record and also a B + for her career voting record.
Check out your politicians at NumbersUSA.com.

Frist blew it with me when he failed to employ the "nuclear option" when dealing with the filibuster problem over judicial appointments. Who knows how many qualified originalist judges have been lost to his inaction?

Immigrate is defined as:
1. To enter and settle in a country or region to which one is not native. (answers.com)
2. To come into a country of which one is not a native, for the
purpose of permanent residence. (websters)
3. Come into a new country and change residency (worldrefernce.com)
4. A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another. (thefreedictionary.com)
In each of these, the implied or stated end state is “residency”. Residency, as anyone who has ever tried to register a car will tell you, is a legal definition, not just a statement concerning your physical location. One must pass the legal claim of residency to vote in the school board election, the state governor’s election, to register a car, or to even get permission to stay in a country. Citizenship automatically grants one residency, whereas physical presence does not. This brings me to the subject at hand.
While I understand the use of the word “immigrate or immigration” in this discussion, I also understand its purpose, and that is to place the mantel of legitimacy on those who attempt to RESIDE in the US illegally. The actual terminology for such people is illegal alien, or one that is not a citizen and is not residing in the US legally.
Alien is defined as:
1. Owing political allegiance to another country or government; foreign. (thefreedictionary.com)
2.
3. Owing political allegiance to another country or government; foreign: alien residents. (answer.com)
3. A person who comes from a foreign country; someone who does not owe allegiance to your country (di.net)
So, one can now logically surmise that those who do not owe allegiance to the United States, i.e. aliens, and who enter the country by other than legal means, are therefore ILLEGAL ALIENS, and not immigrants who legally are residing within the United States awaiting RESIDENCY status to become CITIZENS or permanent LEGAL RESIDENTS (Green Cards).
The individual reasons for their illegal activity not withstanding, they have each and everyone violated US Code and are therefore subject to the full force of the law being applied to them. Period. No discussion.
Moving on. I grew up in South Texas and still reside in central Texas. About 90 miles northwest of Houston. I have lived here since 1964, with two three years stints intermixed in California. What you are all hearing on the news is not new to those of us who have watched our states ravaged by this invasion of illegal aliens, about 85% of which are Mexicans. The hospitals are being destroyed, doctors have left the Rio Grand Valley in droves, especially OBGYN’s (the lawyers there love to file suit over hang nails), the services are incapable of keeping up with demands, and public areas are over run with drifters and trash, and the standard of living and property values are fallings like mad. These people are by and large leaches. They are the refuse of third world banana republics like Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and El Salvador. In fact these countries do everything they can to encourage this invasion. Why you ask? Well because it’s a great boost to their economy in two areas. First, if they are not in their home country, they don’t have to take care of them (we do). Second, I have read that nearly a third of the GNP of Mexico is from illegal’s sending money back across the border to Mexico. You think they want the invasion to stop…dream on!
Now, as to our great “mostly” white fathers in Washington. Most of those blow-hards wouldn’t know an illegal alien if they tripped over him. They are not from the south west. It’s not their problem. “Hey, all you whiners down south on the border, shut up, you’re bothering me.” Well, now they have moved into their towns and now their political feathers are getting burned by their constituents. The mid-west and north-east are now “feeling our pain”, but the politicians are still way behind this parade.
Folks, if you want to find out what it’s like down here, take a vacation to the border of California, or New Mexico, or Arizona, or Texas in the spring (I wouldn’t wish the summer down here on anyone, even you damn Yankees). Once you see entire streets where you can’t find a sign in English or someone who even speaks English, you can’t walk on the sidewalk due to the riff-raff, the garbage around the shopping malls, and the third world conditions in the public services you will understand.
Folks, this is an invasion…plain and simple. Michele Malkun’s book on this subject is excellent and I recommend it.

Republicans in general blew it when they failed to act like Republicans in the majority.
The Republicans could have beaten the Dems down and ground their feet into them and made some really important changes for the good of the country, but no, they chose the road of Washington politics and status quo.
I'm fed up with the whole lot of them, especially the senate.

Frist really blew his chances at the run for the presidency (although, to be honest, I never really saw that as something of interest). I havent made my mind up as yet but George Allen seems like the best choice at the moment (although we will have to see how that pans out).
