Call an enemy by it's proper name!
One problem in the United States is that we are failing to call a spade ... a spade. We are failing to identify and label the enemy of our country. I've known this for a long time, but it was really brought home to me this morning by another blogger. In this post, "Media Attempts to Thwart Aristotle !", at Right, Wing-Nut, he talks about the MSM's failure to call events here in the U.S. by their true name, and the resulting damage to both the MSM and American people.
This analogy could be expanded to some in our government who fail to label our enemy by their proper title. Political correctness, tolerance, multiculturalism, ... have caused our leaders to weigh their words so carefully that they refuse to identify a thing for what it is.
The Anchoress, quite brilliantly, explains quite clearly why the mainstream media refuses to call a thing sourcewhat it is:. . . the truth is, by their incessant downplaying, their knee-jerk move to protect-and-explain perps like this, they’re just making some people very resentful, and in the end, I think that’s going to do more to foment prejudice and bias, distrust and hate toward decent Muslim persons than would simply acknowledging the fact that when these Fundamentalists DO this crap, it is what it is - an act of aggression, hate and terror - and not some “mistake” that can be cooed away. The MSM is trying to overturn one of Aristotle's basic laws of reality:Everything that exists has a specific nature. Each entity exists as something in particular and it has characteristics that are a part of what it is...
The concept of identity is important because it makes explicit that reality has a definite nature.
-A is A: Aristotle's Law of IdentityIn Aristotle’s words, "A is A". It means that a thing is itself and no other thing.
An Islamist shooting up a school full of girls is not an "isolated incident"; nor is a Muslim fundamentalist running down Jews on the street practicing some run-of-the-mill "road rage". It is Muslim terrorism here at home, plain and simple. But our elite media knows we cannot handle the truth, so they keep telling us "no, don't believe the evidence of your eyes, for you see, A is B."
But Aristotle, and the American people, are pushing back. Becuase knowing what a thing is, is basic to human survival. Reality cannot be undone; survival instincts cannot be surpressed ...
In Ayn Rand's epic novel Atlas Shrugged (a thousand-page philosophical treaty which sets out to prove Aristotle's theorem), the denial of reality by the world's leadership causes an eventual mass breakdown of society, as those whom argue that "A" is actually "B" are rendered helpless when the reality of moral choices and economic imperatives can no longer be ignored. Does the media face a similar fate? Is it destined to be undone, to be broken into little shrieking pieces, when the truths they are so desperately hiding finally, undeniably, break lose from their cage?
Rand would shrug... (go read it all here)
Apply the 'A is A' theory to any subject - Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, ... the United Nations ... you name it. If 'A' is 'A' and not 'B', then lets call it 'A'. Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorists, not 'the resistance', not 'freedom fighters'. Iran is a terroris-backing nation that will soon have nuclear capabilities. Once you decide what 'A' is, then and only then can you prepare the proper plan to deal with it. Islamic terrorists want to destroy us. That is 'A'. You can take this analogy any where you want, it always applies. Always.

In yet another piece that compliments both our previous post and the above linked Right Truth post, David J. Jonsson provides the history and role of Islamic economics in the Islamic plan for world domination in his book "Islamic Economics and the Final Jihad: The Muslim Brotherhood to the Leftist/Marxist - Islamist Alliance," in which he cautions that the gradual Islamization of the West will be brought about by an economic Jihad undertaken by the alliance of Leftists, Marxists, and Islamists rather than by terrorism. Death or slavery? Fight or servitude? Defeat evil or live in oppression? Your child or theirs? You or them? This sounds crass. Unfortunately it is this easy yet people want to complicate and talk about grey areas. Bunk! People that talk about grey areas are looking for a reason to run away. As we have found out, we live on a small planet, we are running out of room to run to. In every situation this is a right and a wrong. (go read it all)

You seem not to underestand the theory yourself. A is A , and A is not B. You said A(Iran) is "terroris-backing nation" (which is a B).
The problem is not to call A a A, the problem is what is A ? and who decides what A is , what is its nature !
Based on what reasoning and history effect do you call Iran's "nation" terrorist ?
Its a pitty that in such a developed society (US) still people dont know that others exist and they can think and have something to say.
Iran's "nation" is one of the greatest nations in the history. They have a very clear and proud history. The nation has never fought another country.
America's "nation" are one of the good nations , although that one can find alot of dum exceptions. But you country has attacked other countries, even with Nuclear bombs.

No, thank YOU Jersey Nut! That was indeed a fine post and I am so glad I ran across it. It seems so simple, I don't understand why people don't get it.

This nails it right on the head and encapsulates the entire thing into one potent little truth pill. Well done.
This delusional mislabeling now virulently ravaging the better judgment of government and media leads me to wonder if things in Constantinople drew to a close in similar fashion.

If you don't call something what it is then you don't have to deal with it as you should. If you choose that good is evil and evil is good you can keep the world bickering as you line your pockets. The victim becomes the terrorist and the terrorist becomes the hero. In this upside down world we live in the easiest way to stay in power is to keep the masses confused and angry.
