Alien Roundup
Of Sobbing Vioins Playing Mariachi Tunes ... from Red Hot Cuppa Politics
Oh, puh-leeze!
There's an article this morning about how heartless illegal immigration raids have crippled -- crippled! -- a tiny rural town in Georgia.
From AP, via Yahoo:
STILLMORE, Ga. - Trailer parks lie abandoned. The poultry plant is scrambling to replace more than half its workforce. Business has dried up at stores where Mexican laborers once lined up to buy food, beer and cigarettes just weeks ago. This Georgia community of about 1,000 people has become little more than a ghost town since Sept. 1, when federal agents began rounding up illegal immigrants
(insert violin music here)
More than 120 illegal immigrants have been loaded onto buses bound for immigration courts in Atlanta, 189 miles away. Hundreds more fled Emanuel County. Residents say many scattered into the woods, camping out for days. They worry some are still hiding without food.
(hm. Taxpayers are paying for the buses, but looks like we're not picking up the tab for the at least some meals. That could change)
At least one child, born a U.S. citizen, was left behind by his Mexican parents: 2-year-old Victor Perez-Lopez. The toddler's mother, Rosa Lopez, left her son with Julie Rodas when the raids began and fled the state. The boy's father was deported to Mexico. (Rodas runs a child care center for illegal immigrant workers - FB.)"When his momma brought this baby here and left him, tears rolled down her face and mine too," Rodas said. "She said, `Julie, will you please take care of my son because I have no money, no way of paying rent?'
(Also, if the kid's in the states, she has justification to rejoin him. Rodas will also be able to qualify for foster care monies if approved)
Federal agents also swarmed into a trailer park operated by David Robinson. Illegal immigrants were handcuffed and taken away. Almost none have returned. Robinson bought an American flag and posted it by the pond out front — upside down, in protest."These people might not have American rights, but they've damn sure got human rights," Robinson said. "There ain't no reason to treat them like animals."
(Yes. They have the right to come into this country legally, and be welcomed with open arms. We as Americans have the responsibility to pressure our legislators to pass a sane border policy, instead of pandering to US employers and creating an underclass within our borders)
The 2000 Census put Stillmore's population at 730, but Slater said uncounted immigrants probably made it more than 1,000. Not anymore, with so many homes abandoned and the streets practically empty
(Aha! Brace yourself! Heeere's "N" word!)
"This reminds me of what I read about Nazi Germany, the Gestapo coming in and yanking people up," Slater said
(And the good people of Stillmore mourn their illegal immigrant neighbor's! (intensify the violin music. Maybe switch to a sax, playing the blues ...)
Stacie Bell, 23, started work canning chicken at Crider a week ago. She said the pay, $7.75 an hour, led her to leave her $5.60-an-hour job as a Wal-Mart cashier in nearby Statesboro. Still, Bell said she felt bad about the raids."If they knew eventually that they were going to have to do that, they should have never let them come over here," she said.
Now, how did that quote get in there?
I suppose the reporter forgot to mention that perhaps Ms. Bell would have had a better salary without the competition of illegal immigrant workers who are willing to work for half that and no benefits.
But, I guess that's not important when you're a reporter struggling to maintain an underclass right here on American soil, or invested in pleasing pandering politicians who grovel for the Hispanic vote. .
After you wipe away the tears for the poor, manhandled illegal immigrants, take a look at the Mexica movement, which advocates that all those of non-Latino/indigineous descent in the North American continent just pack up and go back to Europe. Not everybody is here just to work. StetsonTip stikNstein

The Stillmore raid was more or less just a show. The poultry plant has recovered most of its workers thanks to rich blind border patrol and the ones that fled to the woods are back out in the open doing fine. Some raid!

Yep, I'm with you Butch. Don't worry about the trackback, TypePad still has them turned off.

What a load of crap! Freakin' bleeding-heart libs make me crazy!
I went over to the yahoo news site and left a comment there as well. Looks like about 99% of the comments were similar to mine.
Why don't they get it? Illegal means illegal!
