The headline is, "War turns southern women away from GOP" and it is based on a 'recent Associated Press-Ipsos poll found that three out of five Southern women surveyed said they planned to vote for a Democrat in the midterm elections'. Jim Lynch of bRight&Early is asking if this could be correct. My answer is no. The women interviewed in the article give job security and education, and the way the war in Iraq has been conducted as their reasons for being upset with the Bush administration. I'm wondering just how the questions in the poll were worded.
Sure some of us think the war in Iraq could have been done differently, but will that translate into giving up the security of our nation to the Democrats? No way in Hades! No way. That would be disaster for our country. I don't put much faith in polls and we all know that questions can be jaded to initiate a certain result.
Democrats need to gain 15 seats in the House and six in the Senate to seize control.Nationally, the AP-Ipsos poll found that only 28 percent of women approve of Bush's handling of the war. Bush did better in the South, but only slightly — just 32 percent of women in the region said they approve of his handling of the war.
Let's hear from you southern women (and men). What say you? Do you want someone like John Kerry, Al Gore, or their like in charge of preventing future terror attacks? I didn't think so.
Jim asks me and other southern female bloggers,Lori Byrd, Sister Toldjah, My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, if we agree with the poll. That would be a big, fat, NO.

TYPO - took some statistic...

This Southern woman could never be persuaded to vote for the Dems! There's a reason why Gore didn't carry his home state, you know. ;)

The reason so many Southern men have been so courageous in war from 1776 until now is because of the courage and support of their women!
The greatest names in Generals have been mostly Southern.
Southern women see that we are in a cultural war and they will step to the plate and the booth to fight the good fight.
God bless Southern women!!!
