Wal-Mart, winning the world and U.S., one store at a time
Wal-Mart bids 1 Billion dollars for 100 hypermarkets in China. What does this mean? Wal-Mart could become China's biggest food and department store network. Peace around the world via Wal-Mart? It's a thought.
Wal-Mart plans to buy the hypermarkets from Trust-Mart, a Taiwanese company, The Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the transaction. ...Foreign retailers are rushing to tap China's fast-growing economy, large population and expanding middle class.
The Wal-Mart deal, if completed, would follow the Bentonville, Ark.-based company's recent exit from both Germany and South Korea.
Such a deal would vault Wal-Mart past its rival, Carrefour SA of France, in the number of hypermarkets in China. A hypermarket combines a supermarket and a department store in a giant facility with a full line of groceries and general merchandise. ...
Wal-Mart has 66 stores in China and says it plans to increase in size fivefold in the next five years. source
The left here at home sees Wal-Mart as an evil empire, destroying mom and pop stores as it stomps it's way through America's heartland like Godzilla in a Japanese movie. What will they say about this world wide attack by the Wal-Mart monster?

Thomas, did you check the finger food section? :-P

I sure wish they would start stocking 2 inch cream colored twirl-tail grubs in their fishing section again.

Yep, they sure are. And managing to destroy Sam's legacy in the process.
Unfair business practices, supporting an agenda determined to destroy traditional marriage, pushing immoral lifestyles, and supporting the murder of innocent babies.
I can't say that I'm too impressed with those running Wally-World today.
