Hamas Lies Again
It's all about the money, whether it's Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Iran, ... money money money! Hamas has agreed to attend a international peace conference with Israel after the Arab League voted to end a financial blockade on the Palestinians. What's wrong with this picture? Hamas still has not agreed that Israel has a right to exist. Do they think the world has forgotten that the U.S., Europe, and Israel expect Hamas to recognize Israel, renounce violence and abide by existing agreements between Israel and Palestinians. Until Hamas agrees to those three things, a peace conference is laughable. In fact Hamas says they will NOT recognize Israel.
Zahar said the Palestinians had asked for the peace conference "in order to reach just and comprehensive solutions." The acceptance marked the first time the Hamas-led government has indicated it would consider making amends with the Jewish state. The West cut off hundreds of millions of dollars in international aid and tax revenues to the Palestinians after Hamas took power in March in an effort to pressure the Islamic militant group to moderate its anti-Israel ideology.
Israel made clear that Hamas' shift fell short of its demands. Mark Regev, a foreign ministry spokesman, said he was not aware of the conference proposal. But he said Hamas could not be a party to talks with Israel unless it met the international community's stipulations. source (emphasis mine)
Arab nations are supporting Hamas with truck loads of money. They have money for weapons, for television stations, for anything they want, except feeding and paying their own people. Sounds like the days of Arafat.
Iran has donated $120 million to the Palestinian Authority since Hamas won last January's elections, much of it apparently in cash, and is ready to give more according to 'Palestinian Foreign Minister' Mahmoud Zahar. That includes $4 million in cash that was brought into the PA from Egypt yesterday in suitcases by two Hamas ministers.

The Palestinians have a "hidden budget". Money goes into that hidden budget from kidnapping ransom payments, from individuals and groups in Arab nations and European nations (and yes, probably the United States).
The kidnapping of journalists may be another example of a lucrative source of income. Fox News reportedly paid $2 million to free its abducted employees, Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, from the Gaza-based Popular Resistance Committees. The groups are closely linked to the Preventative Security Services and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, both part of President Abbas's Fatah faction. ...International Monetary Fund (IMF) ... recorded that direct payments to the Palestinian Authority from combined European and Arab sources were up some 180% on last year. $US 420 million was donated in cash between April and September 2006. source via Now Public
Not negotiating with terrorists seems to be working, or so Yid With Lid thinks. But in the case of Hamas that is yet to be seen.
While Palestinians scrimp, Arafat's widow lives it up in New York and Paris, according to JJ
... the first lady of Palestine, Arafat's widow, Suha, has been living large in Paris, among other places, at the palatial Hotel Le Bristol. She and her baby daughter left Gaza for France in 2000, during the second intifada -- and reportedly occupied an entire floor of the five-star hotel, at approximately $16,000 per night.
It seems that Arafat 'might just have been the most flagrant embezzler of public funds since Louis XVI. During Arafat's rule, the United States, World Bank, European Union and Arab governments poured $7 billion into the Palestinian Authority to try and help forge a viable Arab-Israeli peace. As much as half that sum is reported to have gone AWOL, with only a small fraction recovered to date. And Suha has proved to be only one of several big-time beneficiaries.'
You can read all the details of Arafat's financial gains, his cohorts in crime, where the money may be and who helped him get it there. Amazing stuff. Corruption past with Arafat. Corruption present with Hamas. And in the present, a "57 year old mother of five became the sixth person in Sderot to be killed by Palestinian rocket attacks, 2 others were wounded, one critically."
The hypocracy of he United Nations and the world is pathetic, and now we have the Democrats who will be working right along with them. The Democrats have proven over the past couple years that they do NOT represent the best interests of Israel. We have seen time after time where financial corruption at the United Nations has swayed their decisions and support in direction of terrorist nations, rather than the United States and the West. It's the money.
The only time the United Nations or the world is nice and fully support us is when they want some of our money, technology of military support --Right Wing Guy
Don't forget Iran still wants Israel gone forever and they may soon have the means to make that wish come true. In Iran, Farhad Rahbar, who also acted as head of the Planning and Budget Organization (PBO), resigned from his post after Ahmadinejad's decision to promote federalism, and was replaced by the 49-year-old Amir-Mansur Borqei, who had previously served as deputy energy minister. It's all about control over the purse-strings for Ahmadinejad. Media is reporting that Ahmadinejad's decision has already sparked the resignation of three directors and some 20 mid-ranking officials at the organization over fears that its independence would be compromised under the new structure.
Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh suggested the idea of launching a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities as a last resort from preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear capabilities. Tehran was all in a tissy over this statement saying, "This military action against Iran will prove to be a disaster."
Iran has the power and means to stop the world's oil supply. Oil and gas from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq, which constitutes 40 percent of the world's crude oil pass through the Straits of Hormuz, ... Iranians have already made their intentions clear that they would cut off tanker traffic if the U.N. imposes sanction on them because of their nuclear programme. Iran has the potential power to create economic panic around the world. source
See, I told you ... It's all about the money!
