Iran training al-Qaeda terrorists, grooming #3

Not only is Iran going nuclear, a big problem for the entire world, but today we learn they are soliciting al-Qaeda members, training and arming terrorists, protecting Osama bin Laden's son, and now hoping to groom al-Qaeda's number 3 man. "Iran is trying to form an unholy alliance with al-Qa'eda by grooming a new generation of leaders to take over from Osama bin Laden.

Let's not forget that "a British foreign ministry spokesman told AFP on Monday that Al-Qaeda is seeking to acquire technology that will allow it to carry out a nuclear attack on a Western country." via The Intelligence Summit . What better way to acquire nukes or nuclear materials, than a country that is not only friendly to terrorists, but training, hiding, arming, and grooming them?

Iran plotting to groom bin Laden's successor It is believed that Iran is protecting Saad Bin Laden the son of Osama Bin Laden and other Al Qaeda members who fled Afghanistan in 2001.

Iran is working to persuade Al Qaeda to promote Iranian friendly member Saif Al-Adel to a senior position in the terrorist organization.
The Telegraph reports:

Iran is also suspected of arming insurgent groups in southern Iraq – many of which have links to al-Qa'eda – that have been responsible for many of the roadside bomb attacks against British troops.

But intelligence officials have been most alarmed by reports from Iran that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is trying to persuade al-Qa'eda to promote a pro-Iranian activist to a senior position within its leadership.

The Iranians want Saif al-Adel, a 46-year-old former colonel in Egypt's special forces, to be the organisation's number three. (Behind Osama and Al Zawahiri) (more at Gateway Pundit)

LGF also has more.

"We are looking at a Doomsday scenario here where al-Qa'eda finally fulfils its ultimate goal of acquiring weapons of mass destruction," said a senior Western intelligence official. "And unlike other terror groups, al-Qa'eda is perfectly willing to use them." source

Yep, Doomsday Scenario is about right and there's no way now that Bush or anyone else is going to flatten Iran unless the Israelis do it. It's pretty clear now that Bush was all talk about Iran anyway. He was simply replying to their threats with more threats. All hot air.

The only thing I wonder now is where the first nuke will explode at, and the most likely targets are Israel or one of our major harbors. It's frustrating.
