It's 1938 and Iran is Germany, what will we do?

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is always running off at the mouth, sometimes to the point that I just yawn and move along in my reading. However, today we need to pay attention to his comments, like "Today, they have finally agreed to live with a nuclear Iran, with an Iran possessing (the whole) nuclear fuel cycle,". He is referring to the United States and other Western nations. Ahmadinejad has seen the weakness of the U.S. in dealing with North Korea and they feel emboldened to go full steam ahead.

Ahmadinejad has a message for the American people: "We will issue a message to the American people ... many Americans have asked me to talk to them and offer my opinions to them. This message is being drawn up," he said.

"With the wisdom and resistance of the nation, today our position has stabilized. I'm very hopeful that we will be able to hold the big celebration of Iran's full nuclearization in the current year," the hard-line president said referring to the country's nuclear fuel program.

It is true that the United States cannot get anything with teeth passed in the United Nations because of countries like Russia and China. But the US is trying something new by soliciting the help of the IAEA's 35 board countries on a technology ban:

Frustrated by Security Council inaction over Iran, Washington is looking to next week's International Atomic Energy Agency meeting to press a new agenda - denying Tehran aid in building a plutonium-producing reactor that can be used to make nuclear warheads.

Washington's push to enlist the backing of the IAEA's 35 board countries on a technology ban for the reactor appears to reflect U.S. recognition that the council is hamstrung for now because of East-West differences on how to sanction Tehran for its nuclear defiance. source

Question: It's 1938 and Iran is Germany; Ahmadinejad is preparing another Holocaust via a nuclear bomb. What do you do?

That's the question Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu asked delegates to the annual United Jewish Communities General Assembly, telling them "there's still time" to take action, what do you do?

Answer: "Believe him and stop him ... .This is what we must do. Everything else pales before this." Continuing he said, "I don't want to analyze the capability required to eliminate [the Iranian] threat, but this capability exists".

"... Israel would certainly be the first stop on Iran's tour of destruction, but at the planned production rate of 25 nuclear bombs a year ... [the arsenal] will be directed against 'the big Satan,' the U.S., and the 'moderate Satan,' Europe," Netanyahu said.

"Iran is developing ballistic missiles that would reach America, and now they prepare missiles with an adequate range to cover the whole of Europe," he added. source

And what will we do? Apparently nothing substantial from the U.S. and Europe. It may be left to Israel to take action.
