Predator unmanned spy planes will soon be patrolling the American-Mexican border, according to Gov. Perry of Texas. hat tip 123Beta
A squadron of 16 Predator I–Bs will be based in Texas's Ellington Air Force Base starting sometime next year, the governor said. As commander in chief of the Texas Air National Guard, of which the Predators will be a part, Mr. Perry will exercise some control over the deployment of the U.S. Air Force-owned planes.The Predators will fly over the 16 Texas counties that line Mexican border, as well as patrol the Houston ship channel and the petrochemical plants that line the Lone Star State's Gulf Coast. The governor emphasized that the primary cruising ground for the planes will be the stretches of desert along the border.
While flying unseen and unheard thousands of feet overhead, the Predator can accurately read a license plate or scan the faces of people in a moving vehicle. source
On Open Borders by The Desire to Conserve
I have recently browsed many American conservative blogs, that write about immigration and related subjects. While many of them have been very interesting and thought-provoking, some seem to exist only to mock and sneer at "Europe's sinking ship". What on earth they got to sneer about? It is the European high culture that is the basis of the Western world, and if this culture gets thoroughly ruined, it will not bode well for the US, either. And what comes to the "anti-national forces" Fjordman mentions above, what about the US neoconservatives, who for some reason seem to favor the continued immigration of the same Muslim masses who they have said are seeking to Islamize the West? Seems to me that the borders are going to be wide open in America as well. (read more)
Let's hope the author of Desire to Conserve is wrong. Maybe the proposed fence if it ever gets built and Predator drones flying the border will be a good start.
