In todays most ironic statement ever, Ayman al-Zawahiri said that his terror outfit would not halt attacks on the US till they stopped attacking Muslims in their own lands. Excuse me? Who attacked who? If my memory is correct, Americans were sitting here minding our own business on the morning of September 11, 2001, when 19 of Mr. Zawahiri's faithful followers flew four airplains into the Twin Towers, Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania and killed 2,996 innocent people.
To Zawahiri who says, "If we are hit in our land, we shall not stop attacking you in your countries," I say right back at ya moron. And since you think we trying to negotiate with the wrong people to end the fighting in Iraq, why don't you come on over to Washington and negotiate with us. I'm sure we have some special forces that would love to meet you, have some private conversations with you, and really get to know you on the most basic level. Come on, Zawahiri, I dare you.
"As our emir Sheikh Osama bin Laden, God keep him, said, 'Like you bomb, you will be bombed, and like you kill, you will be killed'," Zawahiri said. Actually I agree with that statement, Zawahiri. I think the American military should adopt that policy. You kill one of our people, we kill at least one of your people. You set one bomb and kill several of our military, we kill several more of yours. It only sounds fair to me.
Zawahiri says we should expect more attacks here on US soil. No kidding. Don't you think we are aware that this is your greatest desire and that we will do everything to deprive you of your success? We are on alert and so is Europe. The threat of a terrorist attack in Europe by Islamic radicals has reached its highest level since the July 2005 transit bombings in London, counterterrorism officials say.
Americans know that if you can't hit your first and favorite target, America, you will settle for second best, Europe. In fact, U.K. Intelligence says "It’ll be a “miracle”
if there’s no attack over the holidays".
British Home Secretary John Reid disclosed that an attempted terrorist attack in the U.K. was "highly likely” during the Christmas holiday season. Spanish authorities broke up a cell of Islamic militants who were said to be plotting attacks on an arms depot and a supermarket.
In France, authorities are increasingly wary of an Algerian-based network, the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, which recently declared an alliance with al-Qaida, ... (source)
We are picking off your pals one-by-one, Zawahiri. U.S.-led forces captured a senior al-Qaida leader who was responsible for hundreds of civilian deaths and housed foreign fighters who carried out suicide bombings, the U.S. military said Wednesday.
Grok Your World believes that 'the West missed al-Zawahiri's key point: Hamas is insufficiently Islamist for al-Qaeda, first and foremost, for participating in an election, rather than jihad'.
... as he put it; then for going along with the famous "Prisoner's Agreement", put together by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as a basis for moving forward, and
then for agreeing to even think about participating in a unity government with President Mahmoud Abbas, who Ayman characterized as "America's man in Palestine."
The al-Qaeda critique of Hamas -- which has been delivered previously -- is important at this particular moment for three reasons:
1) It shows once again the simplistic and reductionist character of US discourse and "understanding" about the complex relationships among groups stupidly lumped together as "terrorist" ...
2) While there has been considerable bad blood between Sunni and Shiite branches of political Islam -- Iran, for example, not only condemned 9/11 unreservedly, but actively supported the overthrow of the deeply anti-Shiite Taliban --
it is much rarer to hear jihadi criticism of Sunni political Islam ... especially in its Palestinian incarnation ...
3) Finally, coming as it does in the midst of internal Palestinian turmoil that could, frighteningly, be a prelude to civil war there,
it reveals the extent to which the Palestine situation has little human reality for al-Qaeda and any other jihadi groups,
but is simply a convenient symbol for them of what they see as the general oppression of the Islamic world by the West ... (more)
With the fate of the 'Palestinians' at the center of all Islamic complaints, Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Canada will not talk with the "genocidal" Islamic groups Hamas and Hezbollah even though he acknowledged that dialogue is the way to peace in the Middle East.
"We will not solve the Palestinian-Israeli problem, as difficult as that is, through organizations that advocate violence and advocate wiping Israel off the face of the Earth," Mr. Harper said yesterday in a wide-ranging year-end interview with CTV to be aired Saturday.
"It's unfortunate because with Hamas, and with Hezbollah in Lebanon, it has made it very difficult to have dialogue -- and dialogue is ultimately necessary to have peace in the long term -- but we are not going to sit down with people whose objectives are ultimately genocidal." (more)
The Israeli government makes Christmas merry for pilgrims and citizens by helping to facilitate their celebrations, ranging from easing travel to the Church of the Nativity to giving out free Christmas trees. It seems Israel also wants to make Christmas merry for the Palestinians:
According to unnamed sources quoted by Reuters news agency, Israel may release hundreds of millions of dollars in embargoed funds to the Palestinian Authority in efforts to bolster the position of PA President Mahmoud Abbas. The monies in question are taxes collected by Israel on behalf of the PA on goods coming into the areas under PA control. Israel has withheld the revenue as leverage against the Hamas-led PA government.
So much for putting pressure on Hamas to accept Israel's right to exist by withholding funds. Jimmy Carter, appropriately called Dhimmi Carter, who revealed his true feelings about Israel in his recent book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid", is trying to dig himself out of his anti-semitic hole with an open letter to U.S. Jews. According to WND, the letter has 'has only found a home in Al-Jazeera. That should give you an idea of his real intended audience.'
Notably, he sticks to his premise that a system of apartheid is enforced in Palestinian territories by Israel because of "the desire of a minority of Israelis for Palestinian land."
This is still the Big Lie being pushed by a man who must know better.
What's wrong with Carter? Palestinian land? WND continues with the real truth:
There is indeed a kind of apartheid practiced within the Palestinian Authority. In fact, what is practiced there with regard to separation of people based on ethnicity and religion is far worse than anything ever dreamed of in South Africa.
It is, indeed, a virulent form of ethnic cleansing with an ultimate goal of genocide. And it is practiced not by Israel, but by Israel's enemies.
It's beliefs like those of Jimmy Carter and our enemies abroad that keeps America and Israel labeled the cause of all the world's problems. Zawahiri is just jumping on the bandwagon. Why not? People like Carter have paved the way. How does Israel respond? Being the peaceful nation that they are, Israel will abide by the Gaza Strip cease-fire despite a rash of Palestinian rocket attacks.
Actions like those of Israel show the difference in Americans and Israelis, and Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaeda. We are civilized, have compassion, are moral and truly want peace. Quite a difference between us and them.
Be sure to read Hamas, Wolves in Sheeps' Clothing at Gribbit's Word:
This is Sharia Law at it’s worst. Pretending to be assisting the town where our Saviour was born to celebrate the holiday marking HIS birth. When they are at the same time oppressing the Christians living there.
We have reached a time when one of the most Holy Christian sites in the world is no longer controlled by Christians. It exists at the will of the Islamic terrorists who occupy the land where it is located.

Naturally, al-Qaeda only made that statement for the willing and memory-challenged press and surrender-monkey politicians in Europe and here. Playing them like a violin, I might add and almost as good as the Soviets were at it.
