Palestinians threaten violence, I'm shocked!

Actually the article headline is Israel and Palestinians threaten violence.  As Israel continues to defend herself, Islamic Jihad spokesman Abu Hamza said that Israel would be responsible "for any response in the coming hours" by Islamic Jihad.  Translation, 'we're going to attack you, but it will be your fault'.

Israelis and Palestinians threatened Sunday to scrap a truce that has largely ended five months of Gaza violence, with Palestinian militants insisting it must also apply to the West Bank and Israeli leaders complaining that Gaza rocket squads are still active.

Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz told his Cabinet militants in Gaza continued firing rockets into Israel - including one on Sunday - despite the cease-fire.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert "warned that Israel would not be able to show restraint for very much longer in the face of the ongoing rocket fire," a statement from Olmert's office said following his meeting with the Austrian foreign minister.

Israeli officials fear militants are using the truce to rearm with weapons smuggled through tunnels under the Gaza-Egypt border.

Peretz also said operations would continue in the West Bank, because Palestinian militants there continue to plan attacks on Israel, according to a participant in the meeting.  source

This all sounds like a broken record to me, same lines over and over.  Islamic Jihad is just 'waiting for the right time and place' to make their move.  And of course it's all the West's fault for stopping the flow of Western money to the terrorist group Hamas.  The Arab nations are shipping, literally, cases full of money to the Palestinians but the money is controlled and spent by Hamas on weapons rather than salaries and food.

And then there's this: Qatar has agreed to pay the salaries of 40,000 Palestinian education workers for several months, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya has said. Mr Haniya said the amount would total more than $22m (£11.1m) a month. source via Zionism and Israeli News Archives

If you want to be taken seriously you must act seriously. Until Israel remembers what it takes to defeat the enemy it will be at the mercy of the enemy.
I wish Netanyahu would be more forceful in his opposition.
