The world is full of lunatics and crazies, and I don't mean the 28-year-old Indian man who was attacked and mutilated by a group of people with a long-time grudge. They cut off his penis, but luckily he had a successful seven-hour penis-reattachment surgery. Boy, that's some kind of grudge.
I'm not talking about the fact that a 'goat' may just be the perfect Christmas gift this year, according to Jim White of the Telegraph. But not everyone agrees:
... getting a Christmas charity goat for Africa is nothing short of collective madness. Buy one of these gifts to be sent out to the Third World and you might as well dispatch £50 worth of polonium 210. Or at least that is what Andrew Tyler, director of Animal Aid, has been implying in a campaign that has brought him considerable coverage. So many goats are being sent by well-meaning Britons that they are flooding Africa, he insists.
I'm also not talking about a lingerie display at a Victoria's Secret store where six mannequins had on nothing but G-strings, stilettos and high-top nylons and skimpy bras. It seems one woman objected, others joined and started picketing the store. Victoria's Secret responded with this: "We want to create a family friendly atmosphere here." Whew, some 'family' atmosphere.
I'm not talking about the Iraq Study Group Report, that is so bad Iraq's President Jalal Talabani called it dangerous and insulting. I don't think anybody liked the ISGR except the terrorists, their supporters (which includes some Dems and the 'left').
Not talking about United Nations Secretary-General Kofi (I hate America) Annan, who plans to deliver a tough critique of President Bush's policies as his 'farewell blast' to America as kofi rides off into the sunset with all the millions he has skimmed from UN programs.
What I AM talking about, is Iran's upcoming Holocaust conference. I'm not surprised that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would hold such a conference, but the number of countries and individuals who plan to attend this conference is a testament to the utter ignorance of people in this world. It seems 67 international "scholars" will attend, although their names are not being released.
"The first question to be posed is: did the Holocaust actually happen or not? And the second one is: if it did happen, what was the scale of it?
"The allegation that six million Jews were killed or burnt in this event, is it true or not?"
Iran knows this conference is going to cause outrage abroad but wants to test the limits of the West's commitment to freedom of speech, says the BBC's correspondent in Tehran, Frances Harrison.
Iran is drawing a parallel with the Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, which provoked outrage in the Islamic world but were defended by Western liberals, she adds.
The US state department described the conference "yet another disgraceful act on this particular subject by the regime in Tehran". source
