Conservative Hypocrites UPDATED
I don't understand why some conservatives eat their own. Yes I said it. Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly have made grave errors putting down some Republican presidential candidates. Hannity pushes his favorites, like Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich, while apparently refusing to give equal time to folks like Tom Tancredo. Bill O'Reilly gave Tom Tancredo air time, with this preamble (my summary) "you can't win, everybody knows you don't have a chance to win". What?
If someone has a link to the video of O'Reilly and Tancredo, let me know. UPDATE:
Thanks to nanc, Hot Air has the video and The Amboy Times has and commentary.
O'Reilly's words: “You’re not going to win the presidency. You’re not going to be president.”
At this point in time in a presidential election, anybody can win, everybody has a chance. I know lots of folks who like Tom Tancredo. Is he a long shot, sure. But why not give the man a chance. Don't slap him down in public before he gets an opportunity to get out of the starting gate and get his message out.
Tom Tancredo announced his intentions to form a presidential exploratory committee on Fox News Channel's Fox and Friends (video here) On the same day, Barak Obama made his internet video announcement that he was also forming a committee. Then everything went downhill for Tom Tancredo, because the press were falling all over themselves reporting on Obama.
On Sean Hannity's radio show, some of his listeners gave him a piece of their minds on this very subject. I always say that the MSM has an agenda and plan their programs accordingly. It is very sad for me to point out the network that is supposed to be fair and balanced, is .... allowing their employees to push their favorite presidential candidates over others.

How do you like these Bloviators:

just searching, and came across the page. but gotta disagree. i think that by o'reily bashing Tancredo, doesnt designate anything negative. hell!!! hes weeding out the ones who cant defend themselves on a one to one level with a broadcaster, yet we expect to have a president who can handle the whole country ; right? and why consider it canabalism? regardless what you label yourself as, if your positions and direction for the country counter what you say you are, then... your not what you say you are? rep, dem, lib, con, ,,, whatever. what more people do have to do is admit that the media shows you a very biased view, and that theres republicans, just like theres democrats out there who care for nothing more than your vote. power. money.etc, and honestly... you dont get the information you hear on tv, like you hear it on rush and hanity and o'reilly. they dont just send out alligations, like you see on nbc and cnn, but they back it up with facts and transcripts as well.

As a Ron Paul supporter, believe me, I know where you're coming from, as do supporters of Tancredo, John Cox, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, etc.
Personally, I might punch the next idiot that tells me "I really like so-and-so, but they can't win, so I guess I'll vote for the least objectionable person supported by the media blow hards."
Dammit! Support who you want to the bitter end! Either that, or get rid of the Electoral College and let Hot Air Hannity and friends appoint the next president.

I agree. No feeding tubes for me. Just let me croak when the time comes.
When a loved one is in that condition, the care-giver isn't thinking clearly. Their hearing is 'selective', listening for any positive word from the physicians.
Also the care-giver is a layperson usually. Not trained in medicine and therefore cannot fully understand everything they are being told.
Personally I know all of this, and yet when my own mother was in that very spot, I pushed for the feeding tube. That was the wrong decision, because it just caused an extra month of suffering for family members. It also caused an extra month of my mother's body laying there, while the spirit that made her who she was ... had already left her.

Just an aside concerning the Terri Schiavo story:
I have been a medical doctor for 26 years. I have seen many Terri Schiavos come and go. The sad fact is that when a catastrophic brain injury occurs to these people, they for all practical purposes DO NOT RECOVER. When this happens to a person, everything that person was, their thoughts, their hopes, their dreams, their personality is GONE FOREVER.
I have seen family members defend the leftover shells of these people to the bitter end, wanting “everything done”, at all cost. Family members will declare that they were conversing with their loved one and because their arm twitched or their mouth moved (purely reflex actions and nothing to do with high brain function) their loved one understood what they were saying.
Tragically, a big part of the reason that many family members hold on to these false hopes of impossible recovery is due to a failure by physicians. Doctors in general are decent people and hate to break bad news. Trust me, it is sometimes heartbreaking to tell a family with hope and tears in their eyes that their loved one is gone and will not return. Sometimes it is easier for the doctor to maybe not say anything or inject little tiny tidbits of false hope into their comments. For a short time it makes the DOCTOR feel better, but in the long run the family latches onto the remnants of a lost cause and the brain dead person is subjected to an indefinite existence of feeding tubes, catheters, wallowing in their own excrement, with their skin eventually breaking down and falling off in many of the cases, to the tune of hundreds to thousands of dollars a day in medical costs.
In other cases the family hangs on because of guilt. They feel guilty if they do not do everything possible to preserve this lost cause. Many times the reasons for this guilt are not apparent to the doctors and many times we never know the reasons.
Occasionally we will see a family member who usually lives in a place far away and had little to do with the person when they were normal, suddenly jump in and try to take control and demand that everything be done. They will frequently bully other family members into unreasonable decisions. Funny how the family will often listen to these people while ignoring the advice of the doctors and nurses.
Morons like Sean Hannity who have no idea on God’s green earth of the truth of the situation latch on to a story like this like a vulture latches onto a carcass and do nothing more than fan the flames of those who choose to hang onto the lost cause into a frenzy. I doubt that Hannity gave a hoot in hell for Terri Schiavo or any of her family. I’m sure he was more interested in attracting the largest audience possible.
Was it right to leave the feeding tube out of Terri Schiavo? You bet it was. If I had been her physician way back in 1990 I would have advised the family not to place the thing to begin with. Sometimes families will become angry with you even when you tell them the truth and go with the feeding tube anyway, but at least I can rest easy and know that I have done my duty. If telling the truth makes me an ogre, then so be it.

Good rant hubby. You express the sentiments of a lot of conservatives. You might get some arguments on Teri Schiavo, though. I think conservatives were split on that. I don't care to watch or listen to either Hannity or O'Reilly any more.

I lost my majority of respect for Hannity during and after the Terri Schiavo debacle. I remember when Hannity would more or less crucify the Florida judge (I don’t recall his name) for refusing to re-insert the feeding tube into this shell of a woman. It is my understanding that this judge was a staunch conservative and was simply following the law.
But, that didn’t matter to Hannity. He would berate judges, lawmakers, talking heads, anybody that did not see it his way. MY GOD! EVERYTHING THAT TERRI SCHIAVO EVER WAS DIED BACK IN 1990! LET IT GO SEAN!
I also remember a few politicians making asses out of themselves over this. Bill Frist and Rick Santorum come to mind. The gub-ment should have kept its nose out of this whole mess.
Day after day, Hannity would go on and on and on with the same Terri Schiavo topic, beating the dead horse, running it into the ground. I started turning Hannity off a lot back then.
And then there came Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rudi Giuliani. Sean just loves Arnold and he loves Rudi even more. You can just tell by listening to him that he can hardly contain himself when talking to or about either one of them. I firmly believe that Sean would dig up a mile of sewer just to watch Rudi’s sh*t float by!
Now, I have nothing against Arnold or Rudi. They are intelligent, articulate, and even entertaining individuals, likable in fact. Rudi obviously has superlative leadership skills. Unfortunately they are both social liberals. Arnold is now showing his true colors by offering healthcare to ALL, even to CRIMINAL INVADERS! At what price, Arnold? Rudi is pro-choice (baby-killer), pro gay rights (I couldn’t care less), anti-gun. Hey Rudi! Leave my damned 2nd amendment alone. At least if I have my guns, when the Islamo nazi criminal invaders come banging down my door, I will be able to take a few of them with me before I check out!
A few days ago a caller complained to Sean Hannity that he gave tons of air time to RINOs like John McCain and Rudi Giuliani while shunning true conservatives like Tom Tancredo. Sean came back with a flimsy counter that he had had Tancredo on his program but then went into barf gag mode when he stated that a candidate like Tancredo could not win and he needed to devote his time to those candidates that had a chance.
So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Sean Hannity is a hypocrite. He claims to be a conservative but when it comes to supporting truly conservative candidates, he’s too busy digging up those miles and miles of sewer! Sniff! Sniff! Is that a RINO Rudi turd I smell?
To top it all off, he had Cindy Sheehan on his program the other day. I did not listen. I turned it off. Hannity loves to put these raving idiots on his program and have “shoot outs” with them. (Al Sharpton is another idiot that comes to mind.) Sean! I already know these people are idiots! Why do you keep giving them free air time day after day after day? His defense to this was he had to appeal to the biggest audience!
So there you have it ladies and gentlemen! Hannity is more interested in the size of his audience and ratings than trying to echo true conservative values! Rush does not have morons like this on his show. Rush has always been and still is number one and has not had to result to all this BS I have been describing.
Sean, maybe you should give up talk radio and go into politics. You would make a perfect RINO, consumed with trying to attract the largest audience at the expense of promoting conservatism.
As far a Bill O’Reilly, I never have liked him very much. Bill is nothing more than a self professed bloviator and doesn’t care to get his facts straight or take a stand for anything important. In fact he declares that he is an INDEPENDENT. My friends, an independent is someone who does not have the courage to take a strong position in either direction but would rather flap in the breeze, moving in whichever direction the wind blows. Other barf gag words for this include moderate and centrist. The great philosopher, John Cougar Mellencamp, once said in song, “You’ve got to stand up for something, or you’re gonna fall for anything!”
Jesus Christ said the following to the church in Laodicea, (Revelation 3:14-16), “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither COLD nor HOT. I wish you were either ONE or the OTHER! So, because you are LUKEWARM—neither HOT nor COLD—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” NIV
So, as long as our friends, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity continue to praise our lukewarm RINO candidates, that’s what we will likely end up with, another lukewarm RINO, centrist (barf), moderate (gag) sitting in high office. I for one will spit these lukewarm candidates out of my mouth when election time comes. This is what happened to Republicans in the 2006 election. When oh when will they ever learn?
If they would start right now bringing true conservatives like Tancredo and others to the fore, every damned day, make their names, their philosophy, and their accomplishments known, who knows? When it comes election time we might really end up with the right man (or woman) for the job!

In regards to Bill O'Reilly pronouncing that Tom Tancredo won't win the Presidency in 2008:
In 1990, did anyone think Bill Clinton had any chance to be President?

Hi Debbie,
"Bill O'Reilly gave Tom Tancredo air time, with this preamble (my summary) "you can't win, everybody knows you don't have a chance to win". What?"
Well I would like to input to you just how much Bill O'Really knows about anything.
First off I agree with you that those two him and "Sean Fumble Handity" really don't know what they are doing more so with Bill O'Really One time this was quite awhile ago, I wrote to Bill O'Really via email telling him how Bias the Mainstream Media is, his response back to me was Naw they just report the stories like any other news organization and now look at it now we all know and now he knows but do I get an email back to me from him saying well I guess you were right. Nada nothing. This was back in 1998 around August that I had sent him that email.

I don't really care for the guests calling in on radio shows. Call me strange, but most of the time, they are dorks. I think Hannity is getting addicted to his own power; O'Reilly for sure is. They are voices, but not the whole movements. I think they have a right to push whom they want. I have the right to not watch/listen to them. Me, I'm a Tancredo guy all the way. I'd love to see the guy run, and I'd volunteer for his campaign!

Well Debbie like Chyrs I too saw that bit on O'Reilly and it happened to be one of the few times I watch him now. After he told a representative from the American Isamic Foundation that-"I know I am an infided" - I stopped watching him literally, except for now and then. Also like Chyrs I would of like to have slapped him-both times, and then on each cheek. He is really a self-proclaimed know it all and is ruining our conservative reputation. As for Hannity--well, I was disappointed, though I understood why he said what he did-that did not make it right. I am very perplexed why Hannity and O'Reilly who both had stellar reputations at one time would begin to stoop so low. It is truly pathetic.

I felt the same way chrys. I can't listen or watch Hannity any more, he drives me crazy. He has guests on and won't let them get two words in, UNLESS they are one of his favorites, then he lets them say whatever they want, all the time they need.

I saw that Tancredo bit on O'Reilly - wanted to slap O'Reilly - what a surface, pompous and self-worshipping dork O'Reilly is half the time. I find myself turning something else on - instead of O'Reilly more and more every day.
