Kucinich, "You can't win the war militarily." and other crazy stuff
Dennis Kucinich on Neil Cavuto's show today said, "... war can't be won militarily." So Mr. Kucinich, do you want us to send in the politicians to stop the violence, ... send in the politicians to free hostages, ... send in the politicians to capture terrorists? Hmmmm?
A war is a conflict between two or more groups that involve large numbers of individuals. Wars may be prosecuted simultaneously in one or more theatres of war. Within each theatre, there may be one or more consecutive military campaigns. Individual actions of war within a specific campaign are traditionally called battles, although this terminology is not always applied to contentions in modernity involving aircraft, missiles or bombs alone in the absence of ground troops or naval forces.
Shahawar Matin Siraj, would-be New York subway bomber, is due to be sentenced today (AP). Gates of Vienna states the sad truth:
So if his plot succeeded, he’d deserve the thirty years. But, since it never came to fruition, he should be let off lightly. That means that if we want terrorist conspirators to be put away for a long time, we have to let them get really, really close to killing lots of Americans. (more)
We could just sent the politicians after the terrorists, right?
Speaker Botox Threatening To Defund The Global War on Terror, from 7.62mm Justice:
Oddly enough, I swear I heard a Democratic Congressman say that the Democrats would not be doing this very thing. He said that defunding the war would be political suicide. I guess whatever memo that Cindy Sheehan, and Ayman al-Zawahiri sent to Speaker Botox and the other Dhimmicrats must not of filtered down to the gentleman in question.
Lets not forget that Speaker Botox was as recently as November 28th saying that there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq. And that her pick to chair the House Intelligence Committee could not answer basic questions about the enemy.
Speaker Botox, the politicians number one weapon against terror?
Pentagon to Bush: 'Your plan won't work' (hat tip Good Morning)
Pentagon planners have examined President George W. Bush's "new" plan for his failed Iraq war and most agree on one key point: It won't work. Military leaders, past and present, say any strategy based on Iraq being able to lead and defend itself is hopeless.
Jack and the rest of CTU’s staff seem to have no such oversight. They do not worry about offending bureaucratic sensibilities or breaking some minor regulation. They do what must be done to save America, with seemingly no consequences. The central theme of most of “24”’s plot lines is that individual judgment trumps official policy, whether it is in Jack’s interrogation techniques, Chloe’s use of technology, or Audrey’s decision to use CTU resources secretly to support Jack’s unauthorized activity in the field. With no apparent repercussions and with obvious and immediate success, authority and procedure are regularly defied. Some of us say…if only this were real life!
If only indeed.

How Much Enemy Propaganda Do You Believe?, Wake Up America

From the sounds of it most of those on the right would like to spend the next 50-100 years fixing the middle east and bankrupting our own country. I'm not sure that is such a good idea myself but it's a democracy and at lesat we will have the majority decide.

"Can I ask just one question. What would be considered a win."
A WIN:
Killem all and let God sort them out. They all hate us. They are the enemy. It is time we started recognizing this fact.

Rob, that's a very good question. What sould be considered a win, or victory?
The 'perfect' win would be peace in Iraq. All the factions living together in peace. I'm not sure that is possible right now.
The next answer would be a strong government, strong Iraqi military, strong Iraqi police forces, with the potential to eventually gain peace in their own country without the United States and coalition forces. They are far away from that right now.
Third, to at least get the foreign fighters out of Iraq, which would make it easier for the Iraqis to do what needs to be done.
I'm not military, so I hope someone else will come along to answer your question from a military point of view.

I caught Cavuto on my XM radio on my way home this evening. I swear I wanted to reach through the radio and pistol whip Kucinich into a bloody pulp.
Represents the majority of Americans indeed. Maybe souless, gutless, cowardly Americans.
What a moron!
