An attorney and writer that I admire very much, Raymond S. Kraft, writes this, " Rather than going all about seeking a false peace, President Bush, or the next president, Hillary Clinton, or Duncan Hunter, or whoever it is (if it is not already too late by then) must turn the tables, change the rules of this game, seize the political and psychological initiative, spike the ball back into their court, and make the Jihadists and the rest of the people of Islam decide their own fate. This must be an open call to decide the future of Islam, a decision that will be made, overtly or implicitly, by choice or by conduct, one way or the other. It is a decision that only the people of Islam can make. It cannot be made for them. And they, and we, will have to live with the consequences."
The President must go to the United Nations General Assembly, before all the world's cameras, and give a speech, the essence of which should be this:"We welcome Islam as a religion of peace, to join the community of nations, cultures, and faiths, an Islam that respects the dignity and freedoms of Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and all others, as, in return, we will respect the dignity and freedom of Islam. Respect must be earned, and it must be earned by respecting the freedom of others. No one, no religion, can demand respect for itself, while waging Jihad on others. Islam must treat other faiths as it desires to be treated. And Islam as a religion of peace and freedom will be welcome throughout the world."
"But, if Islam is to be a religion of War, a religion of Jihad, that does not respect the religions and cultures of others, a religion that intends to conquer all others, a religion that intends to impose the rule of Islam on a world that does not want to be ruled by Islam, then Islam as a religion of Jihad is not acceptable to us, and we will do all that we must to defeat the Islam of war, aggression, and imperialism, the Islam of Jihad."
"Islam is at a crossroads in history. Islam claims to be a religion of peace, but much of the Muslim world is arming and aggressive as if it is a religion of Jihad and war. It cannot be both. It must be one, or the other."
"Now, it is up to the people of Islam, the Muslims of the Middle East and of the world, to decide what Islam will be - a religion of Jihad and war, or a religion of peace and freedom. The world's eyes are on you now, people of Islam, to see what you will decide, whether Islam will be a religion of Jihad, or a religion of peace."
You can read the article, What President Bush Must Say to 'Islam, where Mr. Kraft discusses history as he does so well, starting with the Munich Agreement secured on behalf of England by its Prime Minister in 1938, Neville Chamberlain.
I usually agree with Mr. Kraft, but the fact is a speech like he proposes would have no influence on Islamic terrorists, in my opinion. In fact they would probably just laugh while they made another video for Al-Jazeera. For one thing, there is no 'or else' in the speech. We are at war with Islamic terror right now and they see us as weak. I don't see this speech changing that. He is right about one thing, 'will have to live with the consequences'.
I do recommend you go read the entire article.

I will check out the site you mention. I do like Raymond Kraft. People seem to either love or hate what he writes.

Hi Debbie,
Your correct, the Jihadist Islamofacist would just laugh in his face over that speech, you can't talk to them you can't barter with them, if one was to put an example of how it is, one only needs to watch the movie Terminator. Where that guy was telling Sarah Connor that the Terminator is a machine it can't be bargained with it can't be bought out it doesn't feel pain and won't stop until it gets you.
It's real folks, there is nothing but destroying them that works.
Speaking of which, Debbie I noticed that you have enjoyed Mr. Kraft's articles before, may I interest you in a good read? Try this link out for a read.
