Did those Super Bowl commercials work?
Super Bowl commercials are supposed to do two things, (1) entertain, and (2) sell products. Do you think the Super Bowl commercials this year were worth all that money?
You can view all the commercials here, listed by quarters. Folks on TV seemed to like the ' Budweiser rock, paper, scissors' commercial, but I don't even remember seeing that one. My favorite is the 'Budweiser spot wink' with the stray puppy. You can't go wrong with a cute puppy.

I also thought the 'Garmin Navigation Maposaurus' was pretty cute. It reminded me of the very old 'Ultraman' shows from Japan. Other winners were the 'Bud Light: Great Apes', and 'Bud Light: Movie', with the hitchhiker carrying an ax. The 'Green Tea' commercial in the 4th quarter was pretty funny.

I didn't see the Snickers ad listed at the above link, maybe I need another cup of tea. Now that was funny, really funny.
Did any of them make me want to buy their products? Nope. And male Fox and Friends viewers were emailing in, saying they would NEVER eat another Snickers as long as they lived. Too much ewwwwwah factor I guess.
What do you think?

Woman Honor Thyself, Brrrrrrrrrr!

Givenmy background from "MadAve." I have to say that this batch of Super Bowl commercials were pretty awful, if not trashy. I found many to be overly violent (the Bud Light "Fist Bump"). And the Career Builder spots were simply horrid! The Chevy Car Wash spot was disturbing.
While a few, like the Snapple Green Tea and a few of the Bud commercials including the "Great Apes" and the "King Crabs" were good, I don't think that any really approached the standard of being one of the "classics."
My favorite, from the standpoint of creativity and communication was the IZOD spot.

Poot on a buncha steenkin commercials.
I was glad to see Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy take their rightful place in the spotlight. Let's not forget the maligned Colts defense that stepped up to the task in the playoffs.
What a class act.
