You can change your mind on illegal aliens
It is possible for Americans to change their thinking on illegal aliens and the amnesty that Washington is trying to force down our throats. I read about one such person today, who changed his mind after reading material sent to him by the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Crusader88 at The Young and Once Good Pundit says:
I have changed my position on immigration, and no longer support amnesty. I had long taken flak from my fellow conservatives for my views, defending amnesty because the illegals are usually Catholics and hard workers, whom we need to keep our population growing. However, I shredded that erring view earlier today, when the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps sent me a letter. A money-plea it was, but the plea rolled on for eight pages, with such disturbing facts asI. Haman traffickers commonly rape female aliens.
II. The Mexican government encourages illegal immigration, so that that nation's elite class can profit from the portion of the American wages which is sent back to Mexico, i.e. rich exploiting poor (Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderon are giving conservatives a bad name!).
III. Drug trafficking and related violence (lest we forget)
IV. Illegals often destroy and steal property of those living near the border.
V. ONE ILLEGAL'S JOURNAL WAS DISCOVERED WITH ARABIC WRITING INSIDE!
I concluded that however good it would be to legalize the c. 12,000,000 illegal immigrants in America, they would most likely refuse to assimilate (like in France); even if we then increased border security, it would leave foreigners with a precedent for hope that crossing the border illegally could someday land them American citizenship. [snip] It is just the best thing for America-and all the friendly Latinos!
I respect people who can look at the facts and change their mind on a topic. Blindly following something because a political party wants it that way, or because one's family says 'this is the way' is just silly. I applaud people like Crusader88.

One Citizens Thought on Memorial Day May 28, 2007
On this Memorial Day, we must remember the sacrifice of our fallen brethren and forbearers in battles here and the world over. The gift of our freedom, security and heritage given by citizen soldiers to present and future generation cannot be desecrated by giving the precious gift of unearned citizenship to those who break our immigration laws and jubilantly flaunt foreign flags of insurrection on this soil that was consecrated by the blood of loyal citizens. We cannot desecrate the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice with utter disregard, as currently shown by our present leaders and their unholy alliances that conspire to give away the fabric of our heritage, customs, language and boarders. Our precious country has been preserved and protected dearly with the blood of our fallen, we therefore cannot give a gift of underserved citizenship to those who disregard our laws, boarders and customs; to do so would be a blot on the memory of our hero’s. Our hero’s are comprised of Native Americans, immigrants, and children of immigrants that have contributed to the grandeur of this sacred country, assimilated and became American citizens. The current illegal immigrants have no intention to neither assimilate nor learn the attributes of our country; they are here for booty, extortion and separatism. We must not give away the precious gift of citizenship to undeserving, un-loyal anarchist; it would be a disgrace to our fallen who paid the ultimate price.

Thank you for this shining example of an enlightened human being. I've always believed that the ability to change your mind and not run with the crowd is a sign of higher mental capabilities!!!
