Integrated Technical Warfare, Book Review

Integrated Technical Warfare, by R.J. Godlewski, is the Right Truth Book Club selection for May. R.J. Godlewski is the founding director of the emerging International Nuclear Emergency Response Team (INERT) and the past director of the Civilian Counter-Terrorism Institute (1995-2000) and the Civilian Anti-
Terrorism Auxiliary (1990-1995).

This book is, in a nutshell, a guide to personal responsibility and corporate responsibility in the war against terrorism, concentrating on an "in-depth discussion of how business can incorporate innovative counterterrorism functions into their overall structure."

Your business must begin to seek out threats and terminate them before they have an opportunity to target you. Most importantly, whenever a terrorist strikes at your business -- and they will -- they must fully understand that there is a price on their head and your own people will not stop until justice is served. I should emphasize the will not stop principle.

I agree with Mr. Godlewski. We can't depend on the United States government or even local governments alone. Organizations and businesses must have counterterrorism programs, and Mr. Godlewski gives excellent guidelines of starting a counterterrorism program and qualifications for a leader and staff.

According to Integrated Technical Warfare, the staff of counterterrorism organizations should have a knowledge of medicine, electronics, field craft, business management, finance, the law, military technology
and procedures, just to name a few. He includes an organizational chart, suggested group members, and suggested training including bio-terrorism, chemical, nuclear, cyber-terror, and more.

Each person must develop a three hundred and sixty degree sphere of awareness around them, instinctively knowing the intimate details of their surroundings. This is extremely difficult for the average person to comprehend. When you walk down the hallway at work, do you know how many fire sprinklers are above you? When you leave your place of business, do you know how many steps you have to descend, and which ones are cracked? When you shop at the local mall, do you know the eye color of the fifteen shoppers nearest to you? [snip]

To fully develop a counterterrorist mentality, one must fully evolve as a human being, and this means not segregating our environmental awareness.

I find the advice of knowing one's surroundings common sense for every American after September 11, 2001, and advice which I personally follow each day. If every citizen of the United States were completely aware of their surroundings 100% of the time, how many lives could be saved? How many crimes could be stopped beforehand? How many terror plots could be foiled? Mr. Godlewski's plan for businesses will allow them to not only identify danger, but stop that danger.

The war against terrorism must be fought with conscience, and this means implementing total shock warfare when carrying the battle to terrorists. [snip]

Terrorists and their supporters will only attack if they can generate a significant amount of fear upon the uninitiated. If we can bring a majority of the general public to the counterterrorism table, then
the terrorists have lost a huge battle for the public will finally understand that the greatest threat from terrorism is fear itself.

Mr. Godlewski shares my negative opinion of secularism, the need for faith and freedom for Christianity which is under attack today. This book is a quick and easy read. I recommend it to average citizens and corporations as a good start toward fighting terrorism. Mr. Godlewski writes from a love for his country, love for freedom and love for God, Christianity, and faith. What a combination.
