Bush promises to work against American citizens, "I'll see you at the bill signing"
President George W. Bush says, "I'll see you at the bill signing," referring to the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill. Conservative Common Man describes the scene tomorrow when Bush addresses the Republicans (from AP News.) (caution, satire alert)
It seems President Bush is determined to override the will of the people. He is apparently going to return to Capitol Hill wearing his best used car salesman suit and meet with Senate Republicans to put them in their place. Picture the scene:The Senate Republicans (except those that pushed the immigration bill and voted for cloture) are seated at small tables in front of a grand stage. On the stage is a grand podium with the flags of Mexico and The United States displayed with equal prominence. Behind the podium sits Teddy Kennedy in an ornate chair that resembles a throne. On either side of the swimmer the senators that supported amnesty are lined up in less ostentatious chairs. In the back of the room Teddy’s personal bartender is preparing drinks for the senators as a sign of good will. John McCain comes to the podium and addresses his colleagues as “my friends” and breaks into a chorus of “Bomb Iran.” (you must go read it all)
Here's what Bush actually said thought, via stickNstein (satire alert):
” It is important for the American people to understand that there are many ways to sneak a bill through congress. I’m planning to work hard with soon to be former Senators Lindsay Graham, John Kyl, Arlen Specter, and John McCain, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, the Mexican Government, and la Raza, to find a way to get this thing past the will of the people. If destroying the Republican party is the best way to do that, so be it. (more)
Democrats to Revisit ‘Bush’s Bill’ on Immigration, Webloggin on New York Times:
This is just another indication that our elected representatives act on their own with their own agenda. It’s not that the problem doesn’t need fixing. It’s that they took this opportunity to cater to their own self interests and pass a bill that is neither wise from an economic point of view nor desired by those who feel the government never wanted to fix the problem in the first place; otherwise fixing the border would be the culmination of this proposed legislation.

Bush Says Immigration Bill Will Survive, Texas Fred:
OK folks, here we go again, the Moron in Chief is looking to betray the American public again, he is fully prepared to give this nation away to the ILLEGALS and throw us, WE, THE PEOPLE, under the bus in the process, and if WE THE PEOPLE don’t stop him and remind him, very forcefully, that HE works for US, and not the other way around, we’re going to be literally over-run by these people, but, here’s the catch, they will no longer be ILLEGAL INVADERS, they will be protected immigrants, protected by George W. Bush, the most notorious traitor to EVER inhabit the Oval Office…
Immigration Bill To Pass? President Bush Says Yes, The Bill T Blog on Forbes:
If he's bent on getting a bill passed, we need to start working on getting a bill that works. I suggest checking out Hugh Hewitt's take on the reform and seeing if there are points we can press.Looks like we're in a dogfight with bad ideas. We're going to have to hang in to win it.
Bush has declared war on the American people who stand firm against illegal aliens and amnesty. Let the battle begin ... again.

Debbie, I could never be that nice. Nor have I ever. Master Hamiltons reply is more my style, but I admire your restraint.
On the one hand, I rejoice that the Republican Party has at last woken up to what a disaster George Bush Jr. is, and on the other hand I'm truly sorrowed at what a disaster George Bush Jr. is.
I've been calling this guy a TRAITOR for a long time now, so it does my heart good to see bloggers like Texas Fred stand up for truth and do the same.
Bush has nothing but utter contempt for us Americans.
The vast arrogance of his henchmen has long been obvious even though many didn't want to ascribe that quality to Bush himself. However, those are the people he chose to stand beside him, and birds of a feather flock together.
Too late we wake up. The damage has been done.

Dave, I'm sorry you feel that way. I guess we don't agree on illegal immigration.
If you change your mind and want to come back for the terrorism articles, the door is always open and everyone is welcome.
I've always tried to welcome folks with differing opinions. Discussion is good and you can't have much of a discussion when everyone agrees.
So thanks for your time over the years and know you are welcome if you want to try again.
