It's WAR

There are none so blind, as those who will not see, ... who refuse to see, what is going on in this world. Daniel Pipes , and James R. Woolsey, former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and Benny Avni in The Sun believe we are in World War IV. No matter what you call it, we are involved in a war that reaches around the world. If all freedom-loving peoples do not unite to fight a common enemy, then this world is in very deep trouble. What concerns me more is the United States. We as a nation must do whatever it takes to protect our freedoms.

Iranian forces have been seen crossing into Iraq and being 'choppered in' over Iraqi border. Hyscience asks, "And if they are, are we at war with Iran yet? Will President Bush finally let loose our dogs of war and attack Iran for killing our troops? Finally?" [snip]

There is a showdown coming with Iran, as sure as the sun coming up in the East tomorrow. The only question will be: Does the world have the heart and strength to deal with it, or will the media and politicians be allowed to use it as an opportunity for ratings and votes?

There is a cost to war and to abrogating the the rules of civilization. Sooner or later, the disproportionate response to wild and frenzied calls of ‘We will finish what Hitler started’ will be paid, once and for all.

The final cost will be determined by the Arab world. Whatever the cost is, they will have no one but themselves to blame.

On a subject other than Islamic jihadists, Martin at Blogbat reminds us of other threats, particularly folks like Vladimir Putin. Martin points out that "the truth is freely available for those who wish to check – Mr. Putin has as much international credibility as the old Soviet dictators, and less domestically every day."

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin once more shows us his roots. Yesterday he was caught feeding dialectical double speak that would have made his historical revisionist comrades who blotted out faces from pictures happy. And the Kremlin was so proud of its sentiment for misinformation, it actually posted the embarrassing speech on its website, according to News Ltd. (read it all)

Thanks all. It is encouraging to hear all your comments. Things are really heating up now, including Russsia, China, who know what North Korea will eventually do, Pakistan is retreating, Iran is getting more emboldenedd, Iraq's outcome is still in question, Hamas has their own breeding ground, ...

We will take the war to Iran when Pres. Dick (Killer) Cheney and little george perceive Iran to be too much of a threat to the goal of controlling Iraqs oil. Right now, waging war on Iran is still too much an impediment to reaching that goal but Iran is steadily jacking up the pressure and eventually the situation will reverse. Then we'll fight.

Newt Gingrich (among others) have been saying (had said) that we were in World War III with the onset of Global Jihad (these statements go back about a year). If, by saying WW-IV we mean the coming conflagration in the Middle East, then perhaps so...but it is in fact, an outgrowth of the move to Global Jihad. Atop that, there lies the coming of the Second Cold War with a re-emerging Russia and Putin's machinations.

IMO, we are now, as Ortho correctly wrote, in a state of perpetual war. If that is true, then what value is there is placing a number after it?

The challenge is not in the numbering of the War, but in understanding the dynamics of winning. That, IMO (an opinion shared by experts) is the difficult part. And identifying the next battlefield is similarly a challenge. You cannot point to a region of the World and conclude that a place on a map is the location of the battle.

Putin is working his way up to "full blown menace." We'll have to deal with Russian ambitions before the decade's out, I suspect.

Debbie-I just updated my post on this with Ezekiel 38, I thought we might have another year, doesn't look like it. And still the "news" crews are waitting with bated breath to catch ph leave jail.
But where is the coverage of a possible invasion(possible? yeah, that's the goal)of Israel.

You're right, the U.S. nation state, along with all other Western nation states are involved in a war to preserve our way of life. This is a planetary war. This is also a perpetual war. Westerners and U.S. citizens must learn to recognize this fact of life.
