Right Truth Book Club now reading Lone Survivor

The Right Truth Book Club is now reading "Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10" by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson.
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July, 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. Marcus Luttrell. This is his story.
Petty Officer Marcus Luttrell joined the United States Navy in March of 1999 and became a combat-trained Navy SEAL in January, 2002. After serving in Baghdad, he was deployed to Afghanistan in the Spring of 2005. He was awarded the Navy Cross for combat heroism in 2006 by President Bush.
Patrick Robinson is known for his best-selling US Navy-based novels and his autobiography of Admiral Sir Sandy Woodward, One Hundred Days, was an international best-seller.
Join me in reading about this hero. I will post my book review in July. Hopefully you will want to come and post your comments on the man, the book, and other heroes you may know.
Lone Survivor is available starting June 12,2007 at Amazon.com.

(Ronnie) Thanks for participating. I saw several interviews with the author, and my heart went out to him. He feels guilt for surviving while his fellow soldiers did not. Perhaps this book is a form of therapy for him. I'm just starting the book, so I can't make an opinion yet.

I have ordered the book and am looking forward to reading it to see if my opinion changes. Working closely with personnel in the SPECWAR community, right now I am thinking its terrible to write a book and capitolize on the death of other team members. Will have to see..

Butch, I think you and Layla are the only two reading these books. At least you are the only two that let me know you are reading them. Thanks pal.

Butch, thanks. Did you get the other books read? What did you think?
I have seen Marcus Luttrell on Fox doing interviews. What a humble fellow he is.
