Syria kills another Lebanese MP
Syria is at it again, or should I say still at it? Anti-Syrian Lebanese lawmaker Walid Eido, nine other people, including his son, were killed by a vehicle packed with 80 kg (177 lbs) of explosives. Sound familiar? US President George W Bush is blaming Syria. Mr. Eido was a Sunni.
Syria seems to have evaded trial and punishment for the killing of Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, who was similarly assassinated by a suicide truck bomber in February 2005.
Syria is denying any connection to Mr. Eido's death. Syria has also denied any links between Syria and Fatah al-Islam militants battling the Lebanese army.
Sixty-five-year-old Lebanese MP Walid Eido, his eldest son Khaled, and eight others were killed in a bomb blast near his Beirut beach club that the ruling majority in Parliament blamed on Syria."There has been a clear pattern of assassinations and attempted assassinations in Lebanon since October 2004," Mr Bush said in a statement.
"Those working for a sovereign and democratic Lebanon have always been the ones targeted.
"The victims have always been those who sought an end to Syrian President Assad's interference in Lebanon's internal affairs." (ABC)
Syria's Foreign Ministry dismissed accusations by a U.N. envoy who expressed alarm to the Security Council over reports by the Lebanese army and observers that both arms and militiamen were crossing the border from Syria into Lebanon.Syria's state-run news agency, SANA, quoting an unnamed Foreign Ministry official, called a report by U.N. envoy Terje Roed-Larsen "misleading" and "rumors released for political purposes."

A leading aide to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan denied involvement in secret peace talks between Israel and Syria concerning the Israeli withdrawal from the Golan Heights in return for Syria ending its support for Hezbollah and Hamas.
Charles Krauthammer on Fox News with Brit Hume, sees Iran's sticky fingers all over this. Iran is reaching it's black tentacles via Hamas, Hezbollah, using Syria, into Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq. He sees not so much a Shia Crescent as an Iranian Crescent.
And there sits tiny Israel.

Krauthammer...is on the money Debbie!
