The Gathering Storm, a book review

The_gathering_storm_book
Over the life of Right Truth and prior to the inception of Right Truth Book Club, I have read, reviewed and recommended many books. I can say without reservation that The Gathering Storm by W.C. is a MUST READ for every person concerned about Islamic terrorism. I think we should send a copy of this eBook to the White House!

According to W.C., we have not begun to fight this war, we have not even been brave enough to accurately identify the enemy, out of fear we may offend someone. He notes some want to conduct the war as a "criminal investigation" while others see it as a war "against the acts of terror." He believes both are wrong and what we are involved in now is only a "prelude to the real war."

To quote former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld:

“Churchill saw that there was a storm gathering, but there were people in Europe who didn’t believe it and who didn’t take the periodic storm clouds and the squalls as a real threat. They thought they were transitory and, of course, paid an enormous penalty in treasure and life for their failure to understand the nature of that threat. I worry we are in a gathering storm and we do not, as a society, accept it. Many of the elites of our society, the key opinion leaders, are unwilling or unable to accept what an awful lot of people believe to be the case. The penalty for being wrong can be enormous.”

We are fighting Jihadists who have one goal, "... imposing peacefully or violently the rule of Shariah law upon the world." We have two choices -- surrender or Victory. It's that simple, and that complicated all at the same time. The Jihadists can impose their laws upon us by force or they can "change our laws." Remind you of any current events or Islamic groups?

The enemy uses "intimidation, infiltration and disinformation tactics" and the "appeasers and apologists" defend and aid the enemy. Those would be "what Lenin called ‘Useful Idiots’," according to W.C. The Gathering Storm is packed full of facts, figures, resources, history. You will not want to miss one page in this book.

According to Walid Shoebat in the Forward, "This book "is definitely void of any politically correct language, censorship, spin, double-talk, or complex vocabulary." ... And "explains in detail the chilling prognosis -- radical Islam is even more of a threat than Nazi Germany and has so many parallels in it‘s ideology.: ... "Reading The Gathering Storm will leave us with only two choices - surrender or Victory."

I believe that there is only one choice, Victory! However, the intimidation, infiltration and disinformation tactics are sometimes so subtle that we let them slide right by us. It brings to mind the old vaudeville skit used in the Three Stooges movie, "Gents Without Cents" made in 1944 and Abbott and Costello movie entitled "Lost in A Harem": "Slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch...I took my revenge."

That is the premise the Jihadists are working under right here in the United States. They are patient, subtle, effective, and will use any means to reach their goal.

The Gathering Storm is an eBook, easy to purchase, download, and easy to read. Price $6.95, order here. Jacket Notes are by Always on Watch Two

Debbie,
An excellent review!

Every single one of our reps on Capitol Hill should read what WC has put together.

3 June 2007
Dear Debbie:
Congratulations on an excellent book review and, above all, congratulations to the author on an excellent book. As someone who is operationally involved in the war I cannot sufficiently stress that I agree, wholeheartedly.
Historically speaking, I compare the period, we are in, to the phantom war-period of WW-II, 1940-1941, the post-Poland/ Pearl Harbor, collapse of France, Dunkirk but pre-USSR invasion.
We have, as yet, not come to terms with the war. Neither in terms of who is fighting whom and for what. Nor, what the parties’ war objectives and goals are. Nor, therefore, do we know of possible alliances etc.
That is why I am so concerned about the aftermath of a perceived U.S. failure in Iraq. We will remember that the U.S. defeat in Vietnam emboldened the Soviets to invade Afghanistan. Will a U.S. defeat in Iraq embolden China to go for Taiwan? Already, we are witnessing a resurgent Russia.
My Chinese friends, at senior levels of the PLA, Intel. and the civilian government have privately told me that they are looking to Iraq as the surrogate confrontation between PRC and U.S., i.e. Sun versus Clausewitz. Will say, following Sun, are they not delighted to see the adversary distracted and exhausted, before they go for the big prize? PRC regional hegemony? We would have few marbles left to toss at them.
Thus, as I have stated, repeatedly, including in my statement to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on 1 February 2007, the real war is out there. And therefore, we must ensure that any redeployment of U.S. forces in Iraq come after Victory in the Battle for Baghdad.
And so indeed, Storm Clouds are Gathering. But, I am optimistic for America. Remember, the country is not mobilized. To quote Patrick Henry, “We Have But Begun!!”
I remain fully convinced that, once again, Americans will prove themselves and that, as General Marshall said, in another time, during another war: “"We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle, Our Flag will be recognized throughout the World as a symbol of Freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other."

What hapless, hopeless parallels you try to draw.

If it makes you feel better to identify Islamic extremism with Nazism, please feel free.

That will not make them the same.

Nor with it justify this overheated rhetoric.

If you care to read Churchill in his "wilderness years" you will see that he did not want war - he wanted to prevent one, but a show of collective force, supported by the League of Nations.

He was looking to contain a rogue nation through collective security - not through a rash declaration that it is "victory or surrender!"

(Collective security, for example, like that, under the auspices of the United Nations, which successfully disarmed and contained Saddam Hussein.)

And it is worth recalling also that Germany was a nation-state in Europe, where Islamic extremism is a trans-national phenomenon - there will be no military "victory", because this is a much a "war" as the "war of drugs".

It is sad that it has been executed with as much effectiveness to date.

There are still so many people who do not believe there is any threat. I've had people laugh. The last laugh will be on them, if we don't do something.

Nicely done.
