A tip on Osama bin Laden?
As I write this article, there is a Top Secret Briefing going on at the Pentagon. Is it about the war against Islamic terrorists, or Iraq, or possible terror threats to the United States, or perhaps Pakistan? Or maybe they have information on the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden.
U.S. calls for force in tribal Pakistan, at Peace and Freedom and Washington Times:
The United States yesterday called on Pakistan to use military force against Islamic fighters in the tribal areas along its border with Afghanistan and offered to fund Pakistani military training and equipment to get the job done.Islamabad has estimated it will need up to $350 million for the military upgrade, and Washington will come up with as much of that amount as possible, said Richard Boucher, assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asia.
This money may not be needed, as Peace and Freedom has someone (Muhammad Khurshid,Khar, Bajaur Agency,Tribal Areas, Pakistan) who has information as to the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden. This comes after " the US Senate on Friday voted to double the bounty for Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, offering $50 million for his capture or death." I hope this tip pans out, because to have Osama dead, or alive, and for the US to air pictures of him, would be the biggest boost to morale and PR for the United States in a long time.
Since the Red Mosque incident, Pakistan has been erupting on an almost daily basis, with suicide bombs. Today two bombs killed at least 33 people. The New York Times has more, including "In the last two days, the Karachi stock market’s main index has fallen by almost 6 percent because of the unrest, after having risen strongly since the beginning of the year." There is unrest across Pakistan, as many of us feared would happen. More killed here.
Pakistan’s safe haven may need surge operation -- A window of opportunity is present to move against al-Qaida’s leadership
But the question still remains, what about Saudi Arabia? They export terrorism, terrorists, fund jihadi schools around the world. If you are interested in the finer points of Saudi Arabia and her connections, I refer you to these articles, "The Saudi Arabian War", "Searching For Mister Doright" and "It’s Focus Time."

Added to the feckless and speechless there is mumness. It is better to be mum on topics of your ignorance than to utter even the first word without intellect. That is the true meaning of remaining speechless.

Musharraf is in up to his neck. He has the tiger by the tail. I suspect we'll need to bail him out before this is over. The sooner we hit Iran and take out the radical support passing into afghanistan and pakistan, the better.

Craig and Stormwarning, the answer to Craig's question is:
"Because too many people like you brag about having TS clearances!" Last time that I checked, you're not even supposed to tell your wife that you have such a clearance."
That response comes from someone who knows, via email.

Atta boy Craig...good question/observation. I don't have mine (yet) but it does often enough raise questions.

As a holder of a TS clearance, I'm always fascinated how every one knows about TS meetings.
