"Peaceful" Muslim Nations Threaten U.S. Over Slavery Sanctions,
You don't want another 9/11, do you?Malaysia dismissed on Monday possible U.S. sanctions over human trafficking and warned Washington of alienating Muslims after it blacklisted mostly Islamic countries. [snip]"We are not bothered about ... the sanctions," Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar said. "I don't think we need to respond to that sort of pressure."
"The U.S. really needs to be friendly to Muslim countries," he told retired Malaysian diplomats. (more at A Stitch In Haste)

A.Q. Khan, the Pakistani scientist who ran an arms bazaar that spread nuclear technology to Libya, Iran and North Korea, is starting to feel freedom again after three and a half years of what amounted to house arrest. The Associated Press quoted two unnamed Pakistani officials on the details: (NYT)

People who believe we are in a war against Islamic terrorists are getting very concerned about Pakistan. Webloggin:
President Musharraf has previously said security forces cannot raid the mosque for fear of reprisal suicide attacks. Now lets look at the result of that policy:
At least nine people have been killed in clashes between security forces and militant students at a mosque in the Pakistani capital,
Also in Pakistan, a Christian man was invited to convert to Islam. When he declined, 30 men tortured and gang-raped him repeatedly over many hours, and the police are keeping him locked up and have denied him medical treatment. (Christianity Today via Return of the Conservatives)
The Old Media Ignores al-Qaeda Massacre While Obsessing Over Haditha Non-Incident"
... Abu Ghraib became a rallying cry for more death and destruction to be wrought upon our Troops. Soldiers were torture, mutilated and murdered on the alter of the exaggerations of Abu Ghraib. And yet, they are silent on the massacres committed by our enemy. Whose side are they on? English here is not the common lingo. If it is not Spanish, then you can be sure it is Ethiopian or Somalian with Arabic following close behind.
Iran should be next (but not the way you think):
Patience isn't a virtue when a hostile government's killing your soldiers. Our timidity only encouraged Iran, which has paid no serious penalties. Tehran has been given free rein not only in Iraq, but also in Lebanon and Gaza.An invasion of Iran isn't the answer. But selective strikes against the infrastructure of the Revolutionary Guards (and the Quds Force in particular), as well as against Tehran's security services, are the minimum needed to get the regime's attention. Our Air Force's combat capabilities are distinctly under-utilized: It's time for 30 seconds over Tehran. Let's see if those F-22s really work. Saudi-Based Charity Helping Hamas Gain Foothold on Temple Mount
The issue of Jerusalem and control of the Temple Mount, known to Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif, is one of the most hotly contested issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Temple Mount, where two consecutive Jewish Temples stood long ago, is the holiest site in Judaism. It is currently the site of several important Islamic shrines, including the Golden Dome of the Rock and Al-Aksa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam. (CNS via Thoughts of an American Infidel)
Some final thoughts taken from Grave Error, "Who’s Attacking Whom"
First, the great majority of victims of terrorist attacks are those people who reside within the nations that these “terrorists” claim to be defending. In other words, there are more “local victims” of terrorism in Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco, etc than there are “foreign victims” in theoretically exploitative industrialized nations. The same is true, for example, in the Basque Country, where the Basque people pay a much greater price for ETA than does the rest of Spain.
And that's just a drop in the bucket of world events.

Thanks everybody and happy 4th.
On the trackback, for some reason TypePad didn't print the trackback. I've gone back and corrected that.

Debbie, I'm with Spree - cannot find your trackback and I don't know how to use that little "create link" feature. This post is an excellent reminder of how common sense has been pummeled by political correctness.
Happy Independence Day to your and yours.

I wish for a 4th of July on which knowledge instead of the oppostie reigns (aknowleging that none of us are always correct).
1) this country was founded on religious tolerance
2) "Nuclear Kahn" getting out of prison is a surprise?
3) Worrying about the state of affairs in Pakistan is new?
4) Military might will not win the War in Iraq. In fact, as has already been made clear, only the Iraqis can ensure the "winning."
5) I wonder what happened to the "youth of Iran" and whether a student revolt is possible (even though with Amadinejad in power, I doubt it).
6) The Saudi's will remain on their throne until their people decide that they don't wish to live their lives that way.
Ironically, IMO, the very foundations of what this country was founded on are being challenged by many of the same people who believe that they defend them.

Thanks for the mention Debbie - I always appreciate it. It is the truth too. I would not wish this place on my enemy - well, maybe one or two.
You know the main Saudi funded Mosque is in D.C. don't you? It is quite sickening when you realize how much influence the Arabs wield in this nation. But there can be no churches in their Saudi cities--their thrown rooms are filled with hypocrites and filth!
Ok, I am going to cool down and leave the rant for another time. I do not want to ruin my good mood.
Have a wonderful and Jihadi free Fourth of July! Be safe and God bless you and yours.
Cheers!
