Letters making threats against New York investment firm Goldman Sachs were signed "A.Q.U.S.A." While Goldman Sachs did not receive the letter, copies were went to as many as 20 newspapers. The letters said, "Goldman Sachs. Hundreds will die. We are inside. You cannot stop us." A serious threat or some nut looking for attention?
The letters, all neatly hand-written in red ink on blue-lined loose-leaf paper, were sent to as many as 20 newspapers across the country this past week, including The Star-Ledger."We're working it closely with the postal inspectors," said Bill Carter, an FBI spokesman in Washington, D.C. "I doubt you'll see any credibility to it, but you have to check it out. You can't ignore it in today's world." 'snip'
Goldman Sachs, with headquarters in New York, maintains offices in London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and other major financial centers. More than 3,000 of its employees work in a 44-story office tower on the waterfront in Jersey City -- the tallest building in New Jersey. [snip]
The letters, apparently all mailed from Queens, were sent to newspapers in Texas, Indiana, Tennessee, Idaho, Washington state and elsewhere. The Star-Ledger received one on Wednesday that was postmarked June 27. It was sent in a plain business envelope and addressed to the News Department. The single-sheet letter said only: "Goldman Sachs. Hundreds will die. We are inside. You cannot stop us."
It is signed: "A.Q.U.S.A." [snip]
Goldman Sachs did not receive the letter. (The Star Ledger)
From ABC:
Goldman is a powerhouse in investment banking, with $37 billion in revenue last year and a profit of $9.5 billion. It hands out the biggest paychecks on Wall Street, averaging $623,418 per employee last year with individual rainmakers raking in up to $50 million, according to U.S. regulatory filings.

Good grief.
The pathetic thing is that it *could* be either some whack job who wants attention (and we have plenty of those) or the real thing.
Occurences like this, and the situation in the U.K. with the doctors, just makes us even more likely to profile those of Arab and Asian descent. Very sad for those who are not fanatics.

"you cannot stop us". That was also written on the anthrax letters.

AC, that's a good observation. However, I'm going to take a "guess" here and say that the use of the phrase, "you cannot stop us" was calculated.
The Amerithrax case remains one of the great unsolved moments in the War on Terrorism.
You will note that the Goldman letter was postmarked Queens NY. The NE location in itself does not connect the two events either. I also believe that if they had been connected, the Goldman letter(s) probably would have also contained anthrax (just a guess).
Finally, the trail of the Anthrax killer is now nearly six years (c)old. Why come out of hiding now? If not now, why not a year ago? Or two years?
My guess is that its a copycat. But no less dangerous.

i have been experimenting with how to gain a greater incoming search from outside user's of limewire.
it may have been successful
(but there is something that bother's me). as i rack up the hits i moniter the incoming search's and they are all "A.Q.U.S.A. ,
and a few "AMENDMENT" seaches systematicly.
so i chose to look it up and i ended up with this site first hand.
