Nigerian gunmen kidnap 3 year old British girl
Three year-old Margaret Hill, the daughter of Mr. Trevor Hill, owner of the nightclub, Good Fellas, located at the Government Reservation Area, of Port-Harcourt, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen. Previously on Tuesday 3 year-old Mike Stewarts, son of a state house of assembly member representing Okrika, Mrs. Lynda Stewarts, was also kidnapped. He was returned after a ransom was paid.
The boy was released after the payment of ransom to the abductors.Little Margaret, according to eyewitnesses was abducted by men driving in a Peugeot 504 car after they rammed their vehicle on the sports utility vehicle that was conveying their victim to school.
Sometime last year, militants were said to have attacked the victim's father's nightclub and took some foreigners hostage. (AllAfrica)
So this is what things have come to, routinely kidnapping babies for money? Or is it the actions and professions of the parents that the kidnappers are upset with, and they want to make a point and get some cash at the same time?

Now the terrorists want to swap the little girl for her father. This is a change in their tactics. I suppose the way they are raised has something to do with it, but it's no excuse. Or maybe it is just that, an excuse.

I read that the Nigerians are upping the ante, yet again. Some places defy easy solutions. The problems throughout Africa are deep, complex and almost beyond comprehension. How could a continent with so many resources be so bereft of wealth and stability?
It boggles the mind.

Folks like this are human scum. Filth. Contemptible vermin who barely rise above the level of fecal material on their best day.

The first thing when I heard this on the news was to see this from the perspective of the child. The terror I would feel, my reaction to being treated like a stolen chicken instead of a loving parent. If this kid makes it back alive, she will be mentally damaged for the rest of her life. This will leave a scar that may ruin her life permanently, cause her permanent paranoia. She's only 3.
How sick do you have to be to treat little children like you would a hunk of driftwood? Just as something to be used. This is the muslim mind. The kidnappings and attacks on oil workers there are being conducted by Salafist Jihadists who claim that they're trying to prevent the exploitation of Nigerian resources but are actually trying to force a Taliban-style takeover.
The morals of muslims aren't the same as the European model, nor are their values. Children can be bought and sold. Until they reach adulthood, they're more like commodities than actual people. If you were raised like that, would you care about the feelings of a child?
The British Foreign Office announced last month that the Niger Delta is no longer safe for Britons living there and India issued a similar warning shortly thereafter. The Chinese are also trying to grab off a chunk of the oil there and their workers are also being attacked.
I can understand people taking a chance in a dangerous place in return for generous wages, but not taking their helpless children into these areas with them. That's more than just plain stupid, it should be criminal.

In Nigeria, the money never makes it to the people.
This is what happens when we let big oil companies exploit the natural resurces of other nations. Even the United States is really run by "Big Oil". Our President and Vice President are the biggest supporters of the oil companies.
