No pasta? Blame it on Al Gore.

Certain food items around the world are now in short supply, because commodities like corn and wheat are being used to fight global warming. Blamed for shortages and higher prices are "bad wheat harvest and increasing competition from biofuel manufacturers."
I'm not just talking about human food items, I'm talking about feed for livestock, chickens, pigs, turkeys. Those supplies are going down, prices on the remaining commodities are going up, all for the scare Al Gore calls global warming. Oh wait, with the extra snow in some areas, Al is now calling it 'climate change.'
Seriously. Seems a very hot spring in Europe has had a negative effect on the supplies of durum semolina wheat, which is used to make spaghetti and fettucini. Italian pasta makers say the two main countries from which they import the rest of what they need have problems of their own. Syria, facing a food shortage at home, has banned all wheat exports; while the Canadian Wheat Board says Canadian and US pasta manufacturers have claimed just about all there is available on contract and we can't export any more until at least November. [snip]If grains go up in price, expect meats and dairy products to come next. (by Blast Furnace Canada Blog)
More:
Italy's famous macaroni makers are the latest to find themselves at the wrong end of competition from the booming biofuel industry, which converts corn, sugar, wheat and other crops to fuel and energy. As biofuels catch on, governments are increasing subsidies. Farmers are finding themselves in an unfamiliar position: a seller's market. Courted by food manufacturers and energy firms alike, they're raising prices and shifting production to crops that can be used to make ethanol for cars, heat homes or generate electricity. (from Der Spiegal Online via Judeopundit)
Canadians don't have the pasta shortage, yet:
Last Thursday, Canada's Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, announced substantial subsidies to boost Canada's production of biofuels. Under its "ecoENERGY for Biofuels" program, the government will provide up to C$ 1.5 billion (US$ 1.4 billion) in the form of incentives over nine years to producers of renewable alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuel."With leading-edge technology and abundant supplies of grains, oilseeds, and other feedstocks, Canada is uniquely positioned to become a global leader in the production of biofuels," said the prime minister. (Grist Mill)

We may not have any meat to eat with our pasta.
Worshipers of global warming are calling an for immediate decrease in animal gases. Next they will call for killing of all the cows, pigs, sheep. Might as well, we won't have the corn or wheat to feed them. (sarcasm) What about humans? We live, breath, emit gases, bodily waste. Perhaps the answer to Al Gore's climate problem is to get rid of humans. Then all God's creatures, well, except his greatest creation -- humans -- can go on surviving for another few billion years.
For a landmark study by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has revealed that cattle emit more than 100 different polluting gases, including two-thirds of the world's emissions of ammonia, one of the main causes of acid rain.Ranching them is 'the major driver of deforestation' worldwide, while their overgrazing is turning a fifth of all the planet's pastures and rangelands into deserts. [snip]
Worse, their manure and wind produces at least a quarter of the pollution by methane, a 20 times more powerful gas. (Daily Mail)

They'll be fine; there is no shortage of Poutine yet...

I'm sorry to raise the elephant in the room: all of our Christian beliefs depend on the Church. Love you Debbie, I, we, love all of our Christian brothers and sisters. There are arguments historically that we need to overcome. I believe Jesus Christ wills it. So what are we to do?

Anyway, I would had vote to the Liberty Statue.

Those short-sighted fools that encourage incentives to turn our human food into biofuels should take note:
During the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Soil Conservation Service promoted kudzu for erosion control. Hundreds of young men were given work planting kudzu through the Civilian Conservation Corps. Farmers were paid as much as eight dollars an acre as incentive to plant fields of the vines in the 1940s. http://www.cptr.ua.edu/kudzu/
Now of course, there’s a Kudzo eradication program since Kudzo has practically taken over all of the southern states due to the fact it has no enemies and grows a foot a day!
Lesson: What looks like a good solution today usually isn’t in the long run.

Think of all the water we will save since we won't be boiling pasta. And the gas or electric we would have used boiling the water.
Question: How does an activist heavily involved in say "climate change" and PETA square the killing of the animals?
Al Gore is an idiot

No pasta, no meat? C'mon Al, you're killing us!
