Stop the war! Bring the troops home! Win the war! Support the troops! Democrats are so confused. They were elected to 'bring the troops home', but they can't live up to their promises. If they bring the troops home and America is attacked again, or more likely Iraq turns into a slaughterhouse, what will the anti-war politicians do then? They're so confused!!!
In "Standing Against the War, but Unsure How to End It" at the NYT, it seems politicians are not the only ones that are confused. The voters seem confused also.
“A sense of confusion,” said Jane Hall, struggling for words behind the counter at the Kingsley Mercantile in this farming community near the Iowa line. “I’m at a point where I don’t know who to believe, or what to believe.” [snip]“They’ve been arguing about it since the beginning,” she added. “Nothing’s changed. “Should we be in a civil war? Did we cause the civil war?” asked Rodney Blank, owner of a computer-repair shop in Hokah, across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin. “Now, what do we do now? Walk away? We should really ramp it up, or get out now.” (read more)
What's equally as bad, or maybe worse, the Democrats can't make up their mind on what to do about Iran. Come to think about it, President George W. Bush can't seem to do anything about Iran either. See "Diplomatic insanity with regards to Iran", at Dumb Looks Still Free:
Just step around the dead Americans, nothing to see here...Save for three American hostages in Iran and thank you to Mark Steyn and h/t to Scott Johnson at Powerline for pointing this out! Apparently this is a great 'secret' that the MSM doesn't want to release and that the Bush Administration doesn't want to talk about. Because, as Scott Johnson points out, there will be a 'diplomatic push' coming up.

I'd like to know what the candidates think about, and what they would do about, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, the Taliban and Pakistan, the United Nations, securing our borders, illegal aliens, and more. The problem is, politicians say whatever they think the most voters want to hear. There is no guarantee they will keep their word if elected. And if they are like Bush, they can turn 180 degrees over an 8 year period. No guarantees folks. No wonder everyone is so confused.

Approximately 45 Iraqi civilians die every day (conservative estimate). That's more than 67000 over 4 years. That's more than the 32 that died in the Virginia Tech massacre. So a Virginia Tech massacre happens each day in Iraq and it's not considered a slaughterhouse.
I see your point. It seems like everyone has a different definition of civil war, winning, losing, slaughterhouse, etc.

"Come to think about it, President George W. Bush can't seem to do anything about Iran either."
This will end up exploding for real if we don't do something soon.
