Hangings, Executions and other good stuff
Iran has hanged up to 30 people in the past month amid a clampdown prompted by alleged U.S.-backed plots to topple the regime, while the EU urges Texas to end executions.

Many executions have been carried out in public in an apparent bid to create a climate of intimidation while sending out uncompromising signals to the West. Opposition sources say at least three of the dead were political activists, contradicting government insistence that it is targeting 'thugs' and dangerous criminals. The executions have coincided with a crackdown on student activists and academics accused of trying to foment a 'soft revolution' with US support.
The European Union has urged the governor of Texas to stop all executions as the state prepares to carry out its 400th death penalty.
Johnny Ray Conner, 32, will be executed on Wednesday in America's busiest death penalty state for the 1998 fatal shooting of a grocery store clerk.
The EU expressed "great regret" at the impending sentence and renewed its call to the US to halt judicial killings.
The punishment was "cruel and inhumane", said the EU.

Nearly 2,000 camels die in Saudi Arabia, (from eating Chinese poisoned food???) hat tip DD2 at Our World As We See It
No, probably not Chinese camel food, or tainted Chinese blankets, or from playing with Chinese camel toys ... from a mystery illness that first appeared two weeks ago. (here)
"Veterinary experts say the symptoms indicate cases of poisoning and not an infectious disease, and this accords with what camel owners have said about animal feed they bought," Agriculture Minister Fahd Bilghoneim told a news conference.Camels began dying in the Dawasir Valley south of Riyadh earlier this month. Bilghoneim said 1,982 camels had since died. [snip]
King Abdullah promised compensation for owners after the government said last week that 232 camels had died in the space of four days in the Dawasir Valley.
Symptoms of the illness include sweating, excitability, loss of balance, vomiting and fainting.
Camels are big business in the desert kingdom and are traded by Bedouin tribes for thousands of dollars each. The animals are used for racing and their meat is also prized.

KAREN: Yep, that took a lot of nerve for the EU to tell Texas what to do. They should try taking care of their own group of countries.

STEVE: Thanks for visiting, and yes I'm happy to exchange links. I've already added The Internet Radio Network to the blogroll.
PHIL: I think TypePad messed his comment up, I've deleted the extra comments. That happens sometimes.
RASTAMAN: Fresh tomatoes, email me some, ha. I've tried growing them here, but on this hill by the river with all the trees we have -- no way. They won't grow. I have only shade-growing plants.
I agree with you on the prisons.

Hey Steve,
Got something to say about the post, yea we know that Right Truth is a great site in fact it's top of the line Steve.
Are you a real Person Steve?
I'm just wondering because you sure do repeat a lot.

I think that Debbie would be a great Talk Radio Show Host myself. But I am not going to push it on her she has to decide those kinds of things on her own.
Oh PS. Steve don't mind me, I'm just naturally an instigator not by profession but kind of like hereditary, It's just a family tradition.

Hi Debbie,
This is more of a pondering trivia question to you.
Since here in America we use the phrase HAIR OF THE DOG to describe hard liquor.
Over in the Middle East would the phrase HAIR OF THE CAMEL be used to describe hard liquor?

Hi Debbie,
I think that the EU better mind it's own business, what a bunch of hypocrites.
I wish that I had a chance to get each one of those EU members in my grasp, it would be WWF Smack Down time as I would gladly and gleefully Body Slam them on the concrete and then to top it off Pile Drive them head first into the Concrete. Yehawww That's the way we do it.

I had to come back for a second look, it is Sunday, after all. Lazy Sunday.
Anyway, about those camels and the hangings... instead of poisoning them, why not hang them? It would be faster and the meat would be safe to eat.
I suppose that would be more effort for the camel murderer, though, and make her more likely to be caught. I say her as muslim women have to walk beside the filthy beasts instead of ride and killing the damn things would definitely level the playing field.
Yep, poisoning is the way to go. Lifting a camel up to put its head in the noose would be too hard. Has to be a woman doing this. My logic is irrefutable.
What do you suppose Arab muslims do to camel murderers? If you find out, don't tell me, I just ate.
Texas judges seem to have little trouble sentencing people to die for murdering someone else, which is fine with me (not that any of them ever asked me, just thought I'd pass that along) and carrying out the sentences quickly is the most humane way for everyone concerned but mostly for the victims families and the taxpayers paying for long-term murderer care.
Yep. Don't build more prisons, just kill 'em off faster and keep the rooms available. Triage, like in hospitals. Oh, you can walk? Great, out you go.
Sunday, church day. My garden is my church and I've been praying the damn tomatos would get ripe. Today a few are. My prayers are answered. Halleleuja!
Rastaman the Gardener
(Personally I would have hung the camels.)
