Padilla and two associates - GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY
Jose Padilla and two co-defendants, Adham Amin Hassoun and Kifah Wael Jayyousi, charged with supporting al Qaeda, Bin Laden, and other violent Islamic extremist groups overseas, have been found guilty. I guess the jury didn't buy the argument that "his extended detention and interrogation at the US Naval Consolidated Brig in Charleston, S.C., left him with severe mental disabilities."
U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke in Miami's downtown federal courthouse.
The jury of seven men and five women deliberated for about a day and a half following a three-month trial. (more history at CNN)

Others reporting as the news breaks, from both sides of the isle:

Becky: I didn't know anything about you and Layla. You two need to talk and work out your differences. We all fly off the handle sometimes and say things we don't mean. Perhaps that happened with the two of you.

Thank you much Debbie. And I will say it I am really sad about the disagreement I had with Layla. I will not get into it all, and not try to place blame. But I would like her to be my friend again, and we agree on almost everything of importance.
I am a lesbian, and I think that started to get to her. I can live with that issue if she can, and do not criticize her or anyone else.
I am a girl who goes to daily mass and my church condemns it, and I choose not to make that into an obstacle.
there is so much name calling and hate these days. And we often agree on so much. I blame Karl Rove and George Bush for using this single issue in a divisive way. They played it like in the old south the politicians did with black people. We can disagree and that is ok, but we can talk. And I am always willing to change my mind. And we can go to the mall:)
Anyway, thank you. And please stop by the blog again or just send me an e-mail. And I so much hope that Layala and I *who agree 99% if the time can be friends again.

Didn't take the jury long to decide, did it?
Glad to see some good news--for a change.
