The Nice Matters Award

The especially nice Christi at Common Sense America has nominated Right Truth for the Nice Matters Blog Award.  What a 'nice' thing for her to do, and I truly appreciate her thinking of me.

The Nice Matters Blog Award is for ladies who have not only great blogs, but also who have more to them, there is caring, friendship and inspiration too:

This award will be awarded to those that are just nice people, good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!

On the hits, you could be right. You know I'm technically challenged. All I know is everybody else is in the same boat then, they all use site meter to count their hits.

According to TypePad, I had 2,228 hits before I realized I was supposed to add a site meter to the blog. So I added those when I installed the site meter.

However, TypePad stats today has me with 321,918, so who knows which is right.

I don't worry about it. What I really like are people commenting on the posts. Thanks

Hey, I was wondering about that 300,000 hits you reported, so I did some digging into Sitemeter, since I have it on my site as well. I'm afraid this sticks a pin in both our bubbles, but... if you click on "Details" and look at the visit durations, you see that nearly all are 0 seconds long. All those hits are from spiders, with the ones under a minute from spammers. In reality, you're getting about 5 actual human visitors an hour. Which is way better than me as I'm getting between 5 and 10 every 24 hours.

It's all the links you have. The more sites linked to you and that you link to, the more you're referenced on the Net and the more spiders come across you in following links from site to site. We don't have "no-follow" in our Meta tags for the obvious reason that we DO want spiders to register our presence, so you'll see some details where the spider is set to scan within the site and there will be 10 or 12 instant, 0 time hits.

I wondered why I was getting so few comments with so many hits....
