Illegal alien 'center' in Florida assisting movement of illegals to Canada and more

An illegal alien 'center' in Florida is guilty of aiding illegals in getting from Florida to Windsor Canada. (The Windsor Star hat tip A SVC Alumnus' Blog)

The man blamed for starting the exodus of illegal aliens from Florida to Windsor claims his organization "has nothing to hide," even as police in Florida begin an investigation into the group's activities.

In an interview Tuesday from his office in Naples, Fla., Jacques Sinjuste, leader of the Jerusalem Haitian Community Centre (JHCC), said he will co-operate fully with an investigation by the Collier County Sherrif's office and he expects the probe will ultimately clear his non-profit organization of any wrong-doing.

Canadian and Mexican authorities have complained that the organization misled Mexican nationals living illegally in the U.S. and fearful of a government crackdown, promised them that Canada was offering asylum and legal status. It's been alleged that JHCC accepted donations of between $300 and $400 to help the Mexicans obtain Canadian refugee applications.

Sinjuste acknowledged that misleading information was passed along to between "20 and 40" illegal Mexican aliens who came to his office after a Spanish-speaking staff member was interviewed for Spanish television. He suggested they were perhaps given the same advice often given to his organization's regular clientele of Haitians, who have a much easier time gaining refugee status in Canada. He added the Spanish-speaking employee has been fired. (more)

This comes as "Congress debate begins on North America Union":

A House resolution urging President Bush "not to go forward with the North American Union or the NAFTA Superhighway system" is – according to its sponsor Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., in an exclusive WND interview – "also a message to both the executive branch and the legislative branch."

As WND previously reported, on Jan. 22 Goode introduced H.C.R. 40, titled "Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada."

The bill has been referred to the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. (WND)
