Israel testing Syria and Iran
According to the former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., John Bolton, the air strike into Syria this weekend was a war test for a strike against Iran.
According to estimations, the invasion targeted storehouses with nuclear materials made in North Korea. Mr. Bolton expressed his satisfaction about the air strike Peace and Freedom II
Israel boasted on Sunday it has recovered its “deterrent capability” after an air strike in Syria triggered warnings of retaliation and intense media speculation over the aim of the operation. (NewsYahoo)
The United States is also preparing, via A SVC Alumnus' Blog
... America now has a conventional penetration bomb that can do the work of a nuclear penetrator while Russia attempts to imitate us. Further details beyond the Naval Open Source Intelligence (NOSINT) link kicking off this blog post at this Russian news site HERE. [snip]That America can now drop from B-2s and B-52s bombs that can reach the Iranian nuclear program's tunnels any damn time we feel like it. Not that Israel can't or won't help us like they did last week when they blew the s--t out of Syria's North Korean nukes disguised as "cement" that John Bolton through his Jerusalem Post de facto publicist has raised questions about if - and when - push comes to shove. A MIT paper in PDF clearly explains that Israel has the capability to take Iran out alone if need be as well. (more)
Even the French are preparing for possible war:
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said on Sunday.”We have to prepare for the worst, and the worst is war,” [snip]"We must negotiate right to the end," with Iran, he said, but underlined that if Tehran possessed an atomic weapon, it would represent "a real danger for the whole world."
"We are trying to put in place plans... (Breitbart)
The United States and Iran are playing a game of "chicken" in the Middle East. A collision would be ruinous for both. Each side needs to be careful to avoid miscalculation and to act in ways that avert a crackup.
I don't believe a collision would be ruinous. A few key strikes, in the right places, with the right weapons, and Iran's threat is taken out.

No problem Rosemary. Layla, Phil, Paul, thanks for the comments. We can hope Iran will get the message, but we are not dealing with a rational man in Ahmadinejad.

Hopefully the little display of Israeli air power has caused the ayatollahs in Iran to re-think their need for nuclear weapons ... probably not.

Hi Debbie,
First thing that I want to do before I comment on your outstanding post Debbie is to say thank you for stopping by and to say I appreciate that so much.
Don't Fear Layla, I was listening to Michael Medved a little while ago and he said that this is great news because Syria has better air defense system than Iran and Iran got very nervous of the fact that Israel was able to get by Syria's air defense system.
Israel has some really impressive Technology to do a really outstanding job at taking out about any of them over there in the Middle East.
Way to do it Israel Hoorah Hoorah.

I wish they would hit Syria too. I realize Iran is behind the whole ordeal but Syria went along and is just as culpable. The way Israel has been treated is horrifying and beyond words.
Hope all is well my friend!
