Mexican President Felipe Calderon said, "Mexico does not end at its borders," and "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." We've know that's what they believe, but now they have finally said it out loud, for all legal Americans to hear.
We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." (News Max)
186 K Per Second:
Who the hell does Felipe Calderon think he is? Perhps if he could straighten out his crap hole of a country, it’s “residents” wouldn’t be leaving by the TENS of THOUSANDS for the far superior health care and economy of The United States of America!
I have some news that will undoubtedly shock you: Mexico does end at its borders.
Hot Air: Update (Bryan):
Following Calderon’s logic, does this mean that Mexico is now Iraq?Or does it just mean that those of us who say that the porous US borders are a national security problem might know what we’re talking about?
Wake Up America:
... they do not "support the U.S. economy", they drain it with healthcare we, Americans, pay for with our taxes, the comment about "served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."... Guess what President Calderon? They have no rights, they are criminals when they enter our country illegally.
This is the kind of talk that even get fence sitters pissed off. Here is the Mexican President during his State of the Nation address today:
This kind of talk is bold and dangerous.Someone in Washington needs to fire back at Calderon and let him know that it is NOT the United States’ responsibility to accept and pander to all of Mexico’s illegal immigrants.
But we’re nearing the point where we’ll no longer be able to afford the charade. Plan Mexico is expected to cost over $1 billion. That would just be another billion dollars that could have been spent more wisely on other things. A mistake that this country has made more than a thousand times over.

The more I read this quote the more angry I become. This is really a declaration of WAR. If I were the President of the United States I would have the Marines and Army on he border. There would be ZERO penetration of our great land by these bandits who hate America and only want to send money home, never learn English, and treat our society like a garbage dump.

Dave:
Exactly. From Calderon on down each leader of Mexico has been shit. They do not make the investment in their own human capital, they just send them North. This is very lazy on their part. Compare them to the Japanese and it is almost scary. Japan was rubble after the war and now look at them. They made the investment. Mexico and Latin America has failed in this regard.

Ames Tiedeman: Thanks for the excellent input. It's like they don't read or know history. It doesn't serve their agenda to acknowledge history or fact.
You are also correct about the culture. I'm not quite as concerned about that. We do have "China Towns", in our major cities and other areas that are majority other national cultures. But having said that, those folks realize they are PART of the United States. The Aztlan groups do not acknowledge that and that's what is scary.

One of the bigger things that kills me about this whole immigration movement bullshit is the bullshit argument that Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, etc. were somehow "stolen" from Mexico by the big, bad, evil USA. Oh, because, that's right, Mexico was such a peace loving utopia with the most magnanimous leaders this world has ever seen until we provoked them into finally taking up arms (and, they would have us believe, they did so begrudgingly). GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. Ever heard of the Constitution of 1824??? Where was your fucking peace-loving Mexican Utopia when Santa Anna decided to wipe that Constitution with his ass??? If any nation was ever a war-mongering, land-grabbing nation it was Mexico, and Spain before it. We stole the southwestern states??? Go cry me a river. Apparently history began when Mexico lost their land. Bullshit.
The only thing someone who professes this bullshit can say, while still being honest, is that we won, they lost, and they are bitter about it. And it's not as if their culture made such a huge impact at the time to even claim that it was a de facto Mexican state. This isn't the Rhineland. This isn't Alsace-Lorraine. The culture(s) in these regions, be they American, German, Scandinavian, Irish, American Indian, or anything else, not only rivaled but overpowered the "overwhelming" Mexican influence they claim they had. These regions were more Americanized than angry Mexicans today could ever hope to believe (why do you think Santa Anna rescinded the Constitution of 1824??? Texas was becoming too American and too hard to control under Mexican rule.). Most Mexican culture that is now commonplace in these regions is because of the gracious, freedom-loving culture of the US that embraces other cultures and allows outsiders to practice their customs freely, not because these regions are just "so obviously Mexican". If Mexico wants to claim these regions as their own, then I suggest they order their "army" to gather both their rifles, get on their squadron of mules, and just try to "take it back". Otherwise, shut the fuck up, stop taking advantage of a putrid welfare system, and, hey, here's an idea, maybe try to improve your own damn country instead of holding the US responsible for it being the shithole that it is.

The next Republican President better have some good ideas because this is what is really hppening:
In the U.S. interest rate are going lower, Gold is going higher, Oil is going higher, inflation is going higher, the dollar is going lower. What is wrong with this? Everything! At some point the FED is going to have to raise rates bigtime. We are in a very, very, precarious situation at the moment. I think Gold will tripple to over $2,000 an ounce when the market finally wakes up and sees the real inflation. Last I checked a lower dollar = higher import prices. There is no inflation deflator here. With commodities on fire you can forget about that. Bernanke should have never lowered rates last week. However, the Fed might be doing something that few have talked about. Maybe the Fed has abandoned the dollar to crush the trade deficit. Good luck, it will take 20 years to correct our 6% of GDP trade deficit and move it back to under 1% of GDP, unless you want to seriously disrupt the global economy. We are in for tough times people. Very tough! The FED will not be able to save housing with lower rates. We are in for a 10 year decline in home prices. It is called a cycle!

Good comments. I am glad so many Americans are not afraid to speak their mind! We will win over time. Stay strong in this fight for an America that our children will recognize in 50 years. We are not a Third World Country. Wake up Washington!

Ames Tiedeman: You say, reverse course or sink, and you are absolutely correct. Thanks for the comments everybody.
Many folks are still waiting for some of our politicians to speak out against what Calderon said, we are still waiting. (silence so far)

The problems we are creating with this rampant illegal immigration are astounding. Equality of people and nations is the greatest myth of all time. We either reverse course or sink. God help us as we are failing our future.

Look at what is happening in Kosovo - Albanians were for years slowly moving there from Albania and now they are in majority and want independence (with support from Albania mother nation). This is what will happen in Southern CA in 20 years.

perhaps our president should declare mexico to be the 51st state of the USA!

Excellent post. I plan on sending a link to all of my fence-sitting friends!

I'll say it again. Hell, I don't mind repeating myself, as those who read my blog have discovered.
SHOOT THEM! As they cross our border, shoot them. We have a legal right to repel invaders.
We should only have to kill 3 wetbacks to stop the flood in its tracks. Announce the new policy and then start shooting. The news will travel like a meme on methedrine and there will be no more wetbacks.
Give the illegals here a week to go back to Mexico. Thereafter, any who are caught are sentenced to a year of hard labor on prison farms without a penny of pay before being unceremoniously dumped on their side of the border of some remote town. Let their own government worry about feeding them and getting them home.
My program would put an end to this crap overnight. A vote for Rastaman is a vote for Normalcy.
Oh. You didn't know I was running for Prez?

This is the sort of talk that more people need to hear. The Mexican government is not doing anything that I can see to improve life for their citizenry so that they do not feel the need to come here to provide for their families.
Posted by: Jack | September 03, 2007 at 10:24 AM
Michael: Excellent point, and I agree with you. I'm not sure that Calderone meant it that way. His comment about Mexico does not end at its borders," sort of proves that.
Dave: Mexico is full of corruption, lawlessness, and many of the illegal aliens bring that with them when they come to the USA.
Our efforts to help Mexico become a better nation for their own people don't seem to be working.
PALADIN: Very interesting. Your free medical program might be a real calling card to illegals.

Interesting report, and interesting reactions. I can see where you're all coming from, condemning Calderon's speech.
But here is a different spin:
31 years ago, Israel conducted the Entebbe raid, and rescued 100+ Israelis from death at the hands of terrorist. Over the decades since, Jews have found refuge in Israel from Yemen, Ethiopa, and the former Soviet Union. Where there were Israelis/Jews, there was Israel...
Even Carter tried to rescue the hostages from the Teheran Embassy. Where there were Americans, there was the USA...
I think you see what I'm getting at: a country should look after its own, and that is not necessarily a threat to anyone else.
I will agree, however, that illegal immigrants should be sent back whenever they are caught.

Let's call Mexico what it is: The Calderon (Cauldron) of the damned. Mexico seethes with corruption, and its government is either complicit or fatally feckless. Tough s__t, Calderon! Take care of your nation's business, or your country will drown in its own political feces.

WELL I,LL SAY THAT SPEECH WAS NOTHING SHORT , OF A THREAT!!!! THIS SUMMER WE HAD OUR FIRST ILLEGAL ALIENS TRY TO ENTER ALBERTA. WELL THE R.C.M.P. GOT 3 OF THEM AND THE FOURTH HIGH TAILED IT BACK TO MONTANA. I SURE AS HELL HOPE WE DON,T GET THE SPILLOVER UP HERE!!!! THE FACT IS THESE PEOPLE DON,T BELONG HERE, WE GOT ENOUGH PROBLEMS OF OUR OWN TO BE DEALING WITH A BUNCH OF FREELOADING MEXICANS!!!!! WE HAVE FREE MEDICAL UP HERE AND IT,S GOING BROKE . WE SURE DON,T NEED EM BRINGING ALL THEIR FAMILIES UP HERE AND HAVING 20 KIDS E.T.C. STAY THE HELL OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNLESS YOU COME LEGAL. IF YOU GOT MONEY TO INVEST OR YOU GOT A DEGREE, FINE. WE DON,T NEED ANY FARM LABOR.
