Politics Today (not yesterday, not tomorrow, just today)
You better read this quickly, since the world is supposed to end today, September 14th, 2007.
In general, politics is nasty business. Both parties have been plagued with illegal acts and questionable activity by members. Atlas Shrugs reports about Hillary Clinton on the Dubai deputy slaveowner's payroll. Taking money earned from human trafficking isn't going to help Hillary's image.
Newt Gingrich says, "Republican presidential candidates need to make a "clean break" from President George W. Bush and the U.S. government or they will lose in November 2008." (Reuters) Good idea.
Words have meaning just like actions. Big Dog's Weblog breaks down the Democrats and their words. Pretty interesting. The word "hypocrite" comes to mind.
We are bombarded with polls from every direction, but as Morning Coffee says, "the only polls that count are on election day, and that is still quite aways off." That's for sure. Right now Fred Thompson is looking good, but I also like Rudy's response to MoveOn.org. Random Numbers has the latest on the top 4 Republican candidates.
Varieties of Conservatism? The Vanishing American has an article discussing the subject of paleo-conservatism, as well as on neo-conservatism. You'll find some good reading listed. Might do us all good to re-evaluate exactly what we believe, what we want in a President, and which candidate shares those values.
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to the AP, via Chickenhawk Express, has joined the far left groups with comments like:
"A day will come that the current U.S. president and officials will be tried in an international supreme court for the catastrophes they caused in Iraq,"
Good luck with that Ayatollah.
Memeorandum is reporting that, "Rep. Christopher Shays said today he will not seek another congressional term unless House Republican leaders support his bid for the job of top GOP member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee." More at Courant.com.
In an odd turn of events, Wake Up America clearly points out that "Democratic politicians plan", is in reality, Bush's plan. I know it sounds strange, but could it be true? Except for the far Left moonbats, could the Democrats and Republicans actually be on the same path in Iraq???
Did you see the "Moonbat Pledge"? Return of the Conservatives has it, along with pictures.

The Moonbat Pledge
I pledge allegiance to the flag,
Of Move on dot org,
and to the agenda it represents,
all nations, under Allah,
with national health coverage for all.
It just confirms what I've suspected all along.
