Pro-America Companies
Do you want to patronize only businesses that strictly abide by federal immigration laws and hire ONLY legal individuals? Here's your answer: Pro-America Companies, You can find legal workers, legal businesses, search for companies that do NOT carry Chinese-made toys (list here), join a discussion forum, read the presidential candidates views of illegal immigration, link to Made in the USA, and many other options:
Pro-America Companies is ... an Internet-based outfit still waiting to be approved by the state as a nonprofit organization. It acts as a clearinghouse for people across the nation to find companies that have pledged to hire only legal workers.
Since setting up his Web site three months ago, David Marlett said more than 400 companies in 43 states have signed up for the free listing. As an added incentive, he offers to act as a middleman between participants and the government in a program that checks potential hires' immigration status.
Known for a decade as the Basic Pilot Program and now called "E-Verify," the program allows employers to confirm workers' Social Security numbers with those listed by the government. The free service has existed for a decade and so far 22,000 have signed up. Marlett already has an agreement with the Homeland Security Department to act as a go-between to run checks for companies, he said. While other such "designated agents" — around 200 nationwide, typically outsourced human resources services — charge for such help, Marlett currently does it for free. He said he eventually plans to charge for the service.
This sounds like a great site and I wish them great success. Go check it out.

There is one essential thing lacking in the PLEDGE itself. It is fact that while many businesses have a stated policy of not hiring illegals, without cooperation from the states and the Feds, it is nearly impossible for companies to ensure that work papers or other documents presented are actually authentic.
Aside from the fact that I know this area of security, someone close to me has often complained about his company's inabililty to confirm that a presented document was authentic. Laughably, we've been told that the "templates" are "for law enforcement only."

The word missing in that first sentence is LOVED. Gosh, now if only I could get my head to stay on correctly. Anyone have any American-made glue? :)
