Sunday Reading 11/25/07
For today's Sunday Reading, let's look at what's going on in the world.
An unclassified threat assessment written by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI in advance of the Middle-East peace conference at the U.S. Naval Academy on Nov. 27, points out that there are no specific terror threats to next week’s Mideast peace conference scheduled in Annapolis, Md. however; authorities will be keeping an eye out for “lone-wolf” terrorists.
German customs police have uncovered in recent years 50 German companies that sold Iran equipment to finish building its nuclear reactor at Bushehr.
In what is not a real revelation, al Qaeda’s rolodex of foreign fighters in Iraq was discovered in a September raid near the Syrian border, showing that as many as 60 percent of the foreign fighters who entered Iraq in the past year have come from Saudi Arabia and Libya.
Operation Give a Hug of Takoma, Wash., works to comfort military children by making and giving them special dolls that can hold a photo of their deployed parent.”

Definitely required reading for Islam Awareness Week from Red Squirrels "Nut Crushing" Nationalism: Sultan Krish
While I have been studying the barbarism and false doctrine of Islam, it has never ceased to horrify me that in the face of overwhelming evidence of the hatred, genital mutilation, repression and second class status which is inflicted upon women in Islamic states, that there are still apologists within our society! Some people may just be ignorant of this, but there is no excuse at all for Politicians, who are so obsessed with multiculturalism and globalisation that they ignore the truth about Islamofascism! Even worse than them, in my eyes, are the women among these apologists who are feminists! Surely they should recoil with horror at the plight of their sisters! Any woman who chooses not to speak up against this outrage is a TRAITOR TO HER SEX!
The Annapolis Conference will be the first international gathering for the sake of establishing a Palestinian state on the basis of international resolutions and reference points, including the Arab Peace Initiative that was adopted at the Arab Summit in Beirut in 2002.
But... another opinion:
“This is not a negotiating session. It is to launch negotiations,’’ Stephen Hadley, the president’s national security adviser, said of the Annapolis conference and meetings planned at the White House.
And another opinion:
... it appears that the Baker-Hamilton Realpolitik forces are winning the day in the battle for the President's ear. And if Gateway Pundit's report is accurate, the big loser appears to be Israel:
And this:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Sunday that the so-called Middle East peace conference ... will produce nothing (positive) for the Palestinians as it is inherently aimed at supporting Israel.
And then there's this:
Saudi Arabia, waging a crackdown on Islamist militants, has released 1,500 extremists after they repented, a newspaper said on Sunday.

Annapolis shows that the Palestinians, Israelis or the Arab League hasn't reached the unbearable discomfort level. A better case could be made that all this never ending, on again, off again Tenet plans, roadmaps and Sharm Al Sheiks to negotiate Israeli-Palestinian peace make the problem worse, not better. Peace has never came from subtle nuamces, negotiations and diplomacy. Peace is made between enemies, between winners and losers.
When one side says "God! Please! Stop!"
Anwar Sadat's trip to Israel wasn't a sign post on a Road Map. The peace deal cut between Jordan and Israel was never an agenda on any international conference.
Israel, Jordan and Egypt needed peace.
The potential preachers paradise sharia satellite of Iran is too busy consolidating power in Gaza the old school way with AK's, masks and militias. Totally booked up plotting an especial reunification with the WB. Fatah's remixed PL Old school seem comfy being a client state - more interested in dealing with the HAMAS, foreign donations and honoring dead terror leaders (traditionally themed with shaeed, martyrs, victims and blood). Abbas' posse are like Chancellor Palpatine in Star Wars III. Fearful only of losing power in the WB.
Israel's economy is off the hook. Honking and growing - making the Little Satan less likely to risk any changes in her client state's status.
Annapolis is a smokescreen, a hudna for one reason only - the complete the encirclement of Iran and isolation of HAMAS and Hiz'B'Allah. And to give Syria one last chance to redeem herself.

Annapolis will go down in history as the Munich (1938) of the 21st century.
But at least the Czechs weren't eager to hack up their country the way Idiot Olmert is.
The big question will be who'll proclaim "peace in our time"? Olmert or Rice?
