America First
Just A Marine discusses the "practical value of having an America first policy". Pretty interesting.
So like an old political sales pitch, “come home America”. Let we voters elect “America first” politicians at the local, state, and federal levels. Let us conclude with three practical examples about “America first”. What is more important: getting shot while walking the family dog on Christmas Eve by a LA gang member going through initiation in Charlotte, NC; or trying to change thousands of years of history in Waziristan? What is more important: protecting American jobs by applying the same environmental rules to foreigners as Americans; or just letting illegal immigration continue with our present situation? What is more important: recreational drug use now applied to cocaine; or the bitter killing wars in Columbia where the FARC has evolved from revolutionary to a crime syndicate? (continue reading)
A lot to consider here at election time. Many voters are having 'voters remorse' and don't think George W. Bush "walked the talk". We don't want to get burned again. Some are wishing that Newt Gingrich was an option.
This election may come down to CHARACTER:
This election, the nation is debating fundamental moral and constitutional questions that demand something other than the usual transient or opportunistic views of politicians. A candidate’s views on taxation may change with time, even a short passage of time. However, changing one’s view on the use of torture or abortion or gay rights reflects a fundamental flaw in both character and conscience. (continue reading)

For anyone who does not understand how the caucuses actually work in Iowa, Spree has all the answers, the latest information on each of the candidates, both Democrat and Republican:
The caucuses begin at 6:30pm for Democrats and 7pm for Republicans (local time). The differences between the Republican caucus and the Democratic caucus is that the Republicans use a winner takes all system and the Democrats do not.
What that means is the Republicans vote by secret ballot and the vote determines which delegates, representing which candidates, will attend county conventions. There, delegates are chosen for state congressional district conventions, where delegate to national convention are picked.
Whichever candidate wins the caucuses takes all the delegates for the state.
On the Democratic side, they divide into groups, each supporting a specific candidate and if a candidate doesn't have enough of a percentage of the total number of voters attending. its members join other candidates' groups.
When that redistribution finally ends with groups of sufficient size, the delegates are divided among them according to the percentage of the meetings' attendees they represent. The process then proceeds through the county and state conventions. At the national convention, the candidates receive delegates proportionately, rather than the winner taking all of the state's delegates. (continue reading here)
Did you know that Liberal blogs are losing readers, while Conservative blogs are increasing their readership? The statistics are pretty interesting.
Fred Thompson is SURGING in Iowa and Spree predicts that Fred will come in second place. I hope she is right. I still don't think it's fair that Iowa may elect the next President of the United States. Some are wondering what influence the Christian vote will have this election.
Fred Thompson, in his own words, speaks directly to Iowa voters to make his case why he's the best choice to be America's next Commander Chief. VIDEO HERE Some think he is acting like a spoiler and actually helping Romney.
Hillary's potential FATAL FLAW in Iowa, committing a strategic error: premature triangulation:
The problem is reflected in what happened to a proposal for a simplified, though far-reaching, health-care plan. (continue reading at the Washington Post)
All I ask is that each of you check out the candidates, look at their history and not what they are saying today. Select your candidate wisely, because we will be stuck with them for 4 years. We need a president who will put America first before any other country, before any other ideal, or group of people. Only a president who can do this will keep America safe.
One last comment about Joe Lieberman. This man is what a politician SHOULD be. He doesn't vote down party lines, he votes for what he believes is best for the nation, whether that is Democrat, Independent, or Republican. I wish we had more like him.

Thanks for the link.
Like you, I would like to see Fred do well today. Of all the GOP candidates, he makes the Democrats and the media squirm. And I like that.
