Barack Obama - Inspirational Speaker
Do we really want an inspirational speaker for President of the United States? Because that's all that Barack H. Obama is. No substance, no plan, no experience, no nothing -- except that he makes a certain group of people FEEL GOOD. They flock to hear him speak, the crowd pushes toward the podium to get a little closer, they 'ooooooh' and 'aaaaaah'. at his every word. But there is no substance to his words. Obama makes people feel good, and we all know that it all about feelings with the Democrats.
They are against the war because it makes them feel bad. They, "liberals," worship tolerance of everyone and everything except Judeo-Christian values (even though that is by definition intolerant). What about the world condition, the future of the Middle East, Iran, Pakistan, and what about issues right here at home?
Defeatist Democrats oppose the war in Iraq, not so much because they fear failure, but because they believe failure is inevitable.(The American Thinker) hat tip That's My Two Cents
The liberals are multiculturalists, and Obama is at the top of the heap.
To elevate other cultures, the multiculturalists inevitably must strain to find beauty in many cultures that are not so beautiful; some in which children were sacrificed, in which violence is a way of life, in which discrimination is systematic, in which women are treated as property, and in which totalitarianism, ignorance and occultism have resulted in great human suffering. The more lovely they can make other cultures appear, the smaller and less significant appear traditional Western values. This is the multiculturalist agenda. (The American Thinker)
I see it now, America -- Red, White, Blue and Green.
The American Muslim population is organizing. Seems that clash of civilizations is upon us. Candidates and issues from a Muslim perspective:
In November 2008, American voters will choose the 44th U.S. President and vote on other key issues and candidates. In this Muslim Voter Guide, you can find information relating to Muslims and election races nationwide, links to Muslim voter organizations, and key issue positions of the main presidential candidates.Muslim Voter Websites
* CAIR 2008 Elections - website provided by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
* American Muslim Voter - website of the American Muslim Taskforce, including their 2008 Election Plan (PDF file), outlining "A Civil Rights Plus Agenda" as the focus of this year's election
Presidential Candidate Positions
Where do the current Presidential candidates stand on issues of importance to the American Muslim community?CAIR has summarized each candidate's position on the following issues: policy on Iraq, foreign policy (Israel/Palestine), civil liberties, health care, education, and immigration.
I suggest you go read TROP's "Understanding Islam", and quit firing our experts on Islam in the Pentagon. Seems we are building for Islam just like the UK. Remember Sharia Financing, surrendering to Islam, and honor killings here in the U.S.
Islam: Setting America Up For The Fall:
“Islamic organizations are carefully orchestrating lawsuits, marches, large propaganda campaigns all across the nation. Islamic schools and mosques are being built in record numbers across the nation with Saudi oil money being funneled into the US legally. Islam is on the march. The submission of the great country of the United States to Islam has begun just as planned. Just as we were warned by Osama bin Laden, Islam is using Americas own laws and freedoms to destroy us.” –Randy Taylor (hat tip Our Freedom Ain't Free)
Barack Hussein Obama's followers see this when they look at him:
What many of us who support him has recognized, is that he is exceptional on many levels and in many areas. For those who haven’t gotten there as yet, consider this: that if you had read the two books he wrote, listened to some of his speeches, followed his political career, considered his intellectual development, studied his profile/record, digested his resume, appreciated his legislative output and diplomatic skills, been fascinated by Oprah Winfrey’s endorsement of his integrity, character and candidacy, smiled at his magnetic personality, been impressed by his dynamism, been arrested by his charisma, been amazed by his human decency, admired his unique background, respected his spiritual growth, applauded his multi-culturality, absorbed his world view, accepted his commitment to family life, been charmed by his grace, marveled at his dignity, felt his love for his wife and kids, been touched by his compassion and been analytical of his life experiences, you would have come to this conclusion long ago. Add to all this, the fact that he is articulate and eloquent; and what do you get: a political dynamo. (From Room Eight)
Is that REALLY what we are looking for in a President? There's nothing wrong with having all those qualities, but in my opinion a President needs so much more. If I remember correctly, Obama didn't even take a stand on many issues, he simply voted "present".
God help us, we need a president who is more than PRESENT. Being PRESENT in times of crises won't solve anything; being present if the United States is attacked, won't save Americans.
I found this gem, it so true:
Who cares that they say absolutely nothing? Apparently not Iowa voters. I was waiting for Iowa voters to compliment Obama on his tailor. His suit may be empty, but it does look stylish. (The Tygrrrr Express)
We need more than a body in a suit, whether it's male or female, to lead the United States of America.
Hillary Clinton is saddled with her relic Bill. Maybe she needs to ask folks to help her pick a new theme song. I guess that call for change isn't helping her. Odds are she's holding something juicy on Obama back for just the right reveal.
Fred Thompson needs to dump the Red Pickup and start supplying the press with some solid soundbites they can use. The bottom line is ... if you are truly a Conservative, vote for Fred.
Here's the actual votes cast in Iowa:
Total Delegates selected in Iowa for the Dems:* Obama........940
* Edwards.....744
* Clinton........737
* Richardson..53
* Biden............23The votes on the GOP side:
* Huckabee.......40,326
* Romney..........29,674
* Thompson......15,726
* McCain............15,383
* Paul..................11,723
* Giuliani..............4,059
* Hunter..................519
You will notice that Fred Thompson actually got more votes than McCain, but the media couldn't stand it. They reported the results as Thompson - McCain at TIE at 13%. But when time came for interviews, they seemed to forget about Fred.
As for Huckabee, Third World County says it best: dumber than a bag of hammers:
Well, the Republican’t sheeple of Iowa have adequately demonstrated that they are either1. too stupid to be out without a keeper (or, alternatively, as an old cowpoke I once knew was wont to say, too dumb to pour piss from a boot)
or
2. fully on board with the move to surrender U.S. sovereignty at the behest of The Governor from Tyson FoodsPersonally, I’m going for the (kinder, gentler, more) charitable interpretation: dumber than a bag of hammers.
Trust me, not all Christian Conservatives will line up behind Huckabee.
My head is exploding:

Congratulations to Barack Obama on winning the Presidency of the United States of America! I completly disagree that all he is, is a great speaker. I believe that he will work hard to get this country back on it's feet but it will take time.

There is so much more needed to be president, but since when is there such thing as a perfect human being?
You want experience....well (in the words of Robert DeNero) then you should vote for Dick Cheney if he were running. He's got a ton of experience. Barack may be chosen for the same reason that in the movie "Gladiator", Caesar chose Maximus over his own son, because Maximus had not been corrupted by the politics. Maximus knew what the people needed and had the power to inspire his soldiers to better serve Rome.
People have smartened up and want a president that can represent the country and represent the working class of Americans. His speeches are great and inspiring because they need to be. He has the power to persuade people to action not through fear mongering, but through being a better person and by serving their nation.
So, is he perfect? Probably not, but is he what this country needs right now and does he have the ability to make changes? I think so.

Ron-NYC: thanks for the comment. First, if you think Obama or Hillary will 'bring the troops home' when they are elected -- you are dead wrong. I'll make a bet with you right now. It won't happen.
They will take office, and then they will see the true situation, they CANNOT immediately pull the troops out for many reasons.
Second, to answer your question about Jesus. If you remember, Jesus cleaned out the temple and chased out the money changers. I don't know that Jesus would choose a party any more than I think he would choose a religious denomination.
What he would do is be disgusted at the waste on both sides. The Republicans are just as big on pork as the Democrats. The difference is that the Democrats seem to believe that the way to solve a problem is to throw money at it. That is not always the answer to things.
I'm not even sure what you mean by "right-wingers". I'm a Conservative and stand for Conservative principles. I know Democrats and Republicans who are Conservatives.
Also, I want to hear the candidates talk on the ISSUES. Obama does not do that, it's just all HOPE and CHANGE and flowerly rhetoric.

Look "right-wingers," it's all coming to an end. Either you are finally going to admit that the left's positions are correct and that we are all in this together and need to truly look out for each other and the planet, or it's game over and we just finish taking this country down the toilet. To paraphrase Goldwater, "In your heart, you know we're right." Please, right-wingers, cut your losses and come on board. There is one thing that I wish some right-winger would answer honestly: If Jesus were alive today, do you think he'd be on the side of the right (with their tax cuts for the rich, and military spending that's bankrupting the country,) or on the side of the left (who want to end the war and help the people who actually need it?)

Being an inspirational speaker is not just that. Its a uniting message that can bring people of this country together for a common goal. This is important in carrying through plans. That is substance right there. Do you think guys like McCain would be able to UNITE a country and be able to motivate people and politicians toward change like Barack?
Second, how can you say Obama has no substance? He has more detailed plans than ANY of the candidates I have seen. You should visit his website and look at his plans..
Thirdly, experience. You are right, Barack doesn't have much experience. But then again who REALLY does besides Hilary Clinton? Mitt Romney McCain? No. Nobody really has that much experience so this argument is mute.

I feel like that - every single day, when the working day is done... or even before.

Just curious (and I don't want him to get the nomination either), how do you see Giuliani being out of the picture? He's far from being out of the game, and frankly, after next week, you all may be very disturbed to find John McCain in the position that I suspect that he will be (in).
Posted by: Stormwarning | January 06, 2008 at 06:23 AM
Debbie, I think Obama is more than an empty suit. I've got a feeling that there are things we don't know about him. His friendship with Odinga (of Kenya) is one thing that disturbs me. His constant 'present' vote may be just to allay Conservative fears. At least he's not as bad as Hillary (which would be true of just about anyone), but either one of the three of the Dems would be a disaster. Thank God, the candidate I most loathe is, it seems, out of the picture...Giuliani. And now to get McCain out as well. Apart from those two, I will be down to the American Consulate with bells on to place my vote on whoever can win the victory away from the Dems. At least things are gathering momentum now.

Much of the world loves style over substance, just hear the right words and we'll fall into line. What amazes me is that people steadfastly refuse to learn from the past mistake of choosing style over substance.

I trashed Huckleberry last Sat. and Mitt Romney today but I can't decide on next Saturday. Hillary or Obama? Probably Hillary, I already did a piece a while back that stomped Obama pretty good anyway.
I agree with Darkknight. After Bush, damn near anyone could do a better job. Even a crackhead off the D.C. streets would probably be an improvement, and after all these years of having Dems as president as well as GOP's, we muddled through just fine UNTIL BUSH!
What's the difference between the Dems spending trillions or Bush spending trillions? At least with the Dems our infrastructure and our schools would be in top shape instead of decaying into the dirt and we wouldn't be spending money on body bags. The way he's conducting his bullshit war on terror is a ripoff of the American treasury and we all know it.
I still think a vote for Chinga is a vote for honesty in government.

I really love that "exploding head" picture!
Posted by: Stormwarning | January 05, 2008 at 09:55 PM
Oh brother please give me a break. I am so sick and tired of hearing Obama is some empty suit. We have an empty head in the white house now. If Bush can be POTUS anyone can. Remember it was a Democrat that signed welfare reform. We thought Bush was going to secure the borders YEA RIGHT! So don't assume a Democrat is going to give away the country.
Politics, Its chess not checker people.

Just make sure that when your head really does explode it makes a mess all over the surrounding sheeple!
