Sunday Reading List, January 6, 2008
I would like to start the New Year out with an inspirational Sunday Reading List. The first article is a must read. The individual who mailed me the link said: "Scott Grimshawa is a member of the Air National Guard who also serves as a teacher in a school district in Maine. Adding to this serviceman's story is the fact that he began his first tour of service prior to becoming an American citizen. I believe he is representative of the fine young men and woman in the guard and he clearly demonstrates the character of those who serve."
As Proud To Teach As He Is To Serve His Adopted Country, via Open Education
Born an Aussie and raised an Englishman, Scott Grimshaw is an officer in the Maine Air National Guard. In November we had a chance to catch up with the exceptionally bright and dedicated young man who is balancing his role in the reserves with the demands of the teaching profession. You hear the tales of those born as Generation X, the generation of young men and women who are self-absorbed and interested only in what life has to offer them. Then you meet someone like high school teacher Scott Grimshaw and you quickly realize that stereotype is simply not accurate. (continue reading)
Just for fun, Al Queda versus Al Gore, at TheTygrrrr Express
Al Queda: Power obsessed individuals that want to destroy the world.Al Gore: Power obsessed individual that wants to convince Americans that they are destroying the world.
Al Queda: Shave their beards to avoid being captured by U.S. Forces.
Al Gore: Shaved his beard to remain politically viable.
Al Queda: Hates republicans and President Bush, earning a runner up position as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. He was denied the top position solely due to fear of people canceling their subscriptions.

No Murder Charges Filed Against Haditha Marines, at Amy Proctor
After a 2 year investigation and claims by Democratic Congressman John Murtha that Marines in Haditha, Iraq, murdered civilians in cold blood, none of the Marines involved will be charged with murder.I said this from the beginning, that the war in Iraq is not a Hollywood interpretation and that this was simply a horrible mistake based on Marines reacting to an IED that killed a fellow Marine. This situation which MoveOn.Org types used as propaganda against the war wasn’t one of cruelty to civilians but rather the fog of war and combat training. (continue reading)
The Muslim Male Psyche, at The Right Track (oldie but a goodie)
It’s common knowledge how the nations of ultra-modern Islam (i.e., those maintaining customs no older than the 9th Century) treat their women. With virtually no civil rights, and even held accountable for their own rapes, women are accorded all the respect and rights of cattle. How interesting is it, then — bearing in mind that I have a Master’s in Counseling and tend toward Freudian thinking in looking at this particular issue — to find a Muslim “holy warrior” dressed as a woman while trying to avoid escape? Terrorist Jose Padilla Sues Cal Professor Over Terror Memos, at The Two Malcontents
Convicted terrorism conspirator Jose Padilla sued a key architect of the Bush administration’s counterterrorism policies and UC Berkeley professor Friday, claiming the official’s legal arguments led to Padilla’s alleged mistreatment and illegal detention at a Navy brig. The lawsuit claims that John Yoo, a former senior Justice Department official, wrote several legal memos that led President Bush to designate Padilla as an enemy combatant shortly after the U.S. citizen was arrested in May 2002 at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on suspicion of involvement in an al-Qaida plot. USO Partners with MoveOn.Org, at Amy Proctor
Some supporters of the military have wondered why in the past 3-4 years or so the USO, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to soldiers, seems to have been unable to procure much good, quality entertainment for the troops in theater. Maybe Hollywood and the entertainment industry have strayed far from the days of Bob Hope. Maybe entertainers are simply afraid of being in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. Or maybe it’s something else.

The New York Times story from a few days ago on the people who were burned to death inside a church in Kenya blames it all on tribal warfare. But there may be other factors involved also."Mob Sets Kenya Church on Fire, Killing Dozens," by Jeffrey Gettleman for The New York Times:
TNOYF Deciphers Pakistani Cleric’s Interview With The Sun, from The Nose On Your Face
Ed: The following article appeared in Britain’s The Sun today. Sun writer Oliver Harvey interviewed Pakistani cleric Imam Qari Hifzur Rehamn on the latter’s views of the world. Due to the language gap between the two countries, TNOYF has reprinted the article in its entirety along with necessary translations in boldface.A FANATICAL Pakistani cleric (Declared the Chief of the Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department’s Department of Redundancy) told The Sun yesterday of his chilling dream to turn the world Muslim – by force if necessary (As opposed to using the relentless tickling technique which they have employed thus far). Uhuru: The Knight of the Long Knives, The Right Perspective Pod Cast (oldie but goodie)
Former South African Intelligence Officer Gustav Muller speaks about "Uhuru". Also known as The Knight of the Long Knives, Mnr. Muller puts forward the case that a long-simmering plot is being hatched by Communist Bantus as a "final solution" for Whites in South Africa. Using events documented by mainstream news services and freely-available to the public, Mnr. Muller builds his case to prove that Uhuru is indeed underway. This interview is especially poignant due to recent events in African politics. (Originally aired Feb. 02, 2007).

On Scott Grimshaw, I think that Aussies have a natural affinity with Americans. Both have a lot in common. I'm not surprised that he finds so much to admire over there. Nice story.
On the Pakistani cleric who wants to take over the world for Islam, unfortunately he is one of millions I believe. He is just one of the first of the vocal ones. I think we'll see more and more voicing this as they're emboldened by dhimmitude creeping into our media and politicians' actions.
